A garden party at Terrace Park in Laurel Green

On Sat., May 26, more than 800 people enjoyed the grand opening of Terrace Park in southeast Edmonton’s Laurel Green community. Located just west of 17 Street and south of 23 Avenue, Terrace Park, developed by Dream Development, is a unique neighbourhood specializing in a combination of innovative design and friendly lifestyle qualities.
At Terrace Park every home opens onto greenspace, and on May 26 that greenspace hosted fun family activities for everyone. Kids enjoyed a bouncy castle, and youth and seniors stood in line for balloon designs twisted by the city’s best twister “Pretzel.” Face painting and a photo booth were also popular attractions. Visitors were photographed in Paris, London and even with the Minions without leaving Terrace Park, courtesy of the creative photo options by Twilite Music Services, who also provided garden party music for a festive atmosphere.
Hot dogs were flying off the grill and people lined up to sample a delicious array of samosas, pakoras and spring rolls from New Asian Village Tamarack.
More than 100 groups toured the show homes by Homes By Avi and Landmark Homes. The builders’ home designs embrace the greenway concept and both front and rear yards are architecturally appealing. Each home offers full landscaping, low maintenance vinyl fencing, front porches and a rear detached garage with a parking pad that provides combined space for four vehicles.
Terrace Park in Laurel Green has two tot lots in the greenway, tree-lined walking paths with bollard lighting, seating areas and an interactive handicap-accessible playground just down the block. Terrace Park offers easy access to both Anthony Henday Drive and Whitemud Drive and is close to many amenities, including a new school – Svend Hansen School (K-9) – that’s only a five-minute walk away, and The Meadows Community Recreation Centre.
