Celebrity landlords: Live in an A-lister's home

From Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith's Aspen retreat to Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady's NYC penthouse and Selma Hayek's humble abode, here is a roundup of some of our favourite celebrity landlords and their rental properties.

Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith's Aspen hideout

Rent: $65,000 per month

After their split, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas decided to put their home on the market for $8.9 million and rent it out in the interim for an astounding $65,000 a month.

The secluded 8,121-sq.-ft. Aspen home consists of seven bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms and sits on 12.3 acres of land that is 10 miles away from the nearest town. The home features a billiards room, fire pit, hot tub and spectacular views of the mountain. The lot also contains a cabin with a wood-burning stove, a guest home with one bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen as well as a private ski run.

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady's NYC penthouse

Rent: $40,000 per month

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady rent out their NYC penthouse in the iconic One Madison. The golden couple purchased the full-floor condominium for $14 million in October 2013. Sitting high on the 47th floor, the three-bedroom penthouse overlooks the entire city.

Designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, the apartment is complete with solid quarter-sawn white oak plank floors, oversized doors and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Leonardo DiCaprio's Palm Springs rental

If you want to crash at Leonardo DiCaprio's Palm Springs pad, you'll have to dish out $4,500 a night. According to the listing, the 7,022-sq.-ft. home, which DiCaprio purchased for $5.3 million, includes six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, a chef's kitchen, multiple fireplaces throughout, a sauna, and a desert backdrop. Also featured on the 1.3-acre lot is a tennis court and a guest home overlooking the pool and spa.

Hilary Swank's West Village rental

Hilary Swank is asking for $20,000 a month for her two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in Manhattan's swanky West Village neighbourhood. The best part of Swank's pad is that the Empire State Building, Freedom Tower and the Hudson River are all in clear sight. The 1,441-sq.-ft. residence comes furnished, with a master bedroom and ensuite spa.

Jessica Chastain's NYC apartment

Actress Jessica Chastain is renting out her apartment in NYC's Greenwich Village for $11,500 a month. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment contains a chef's kitchen, living room and wood-burning fireplace on the first floor with a wide circular staircase that leads to a sky-lit landing and two bedrooms. One of the best features is the the master bedroom, which boasts city views, a dressing area, and a walk-in closet.

Selma Hayek's California ranch

Selma Hayek is the landlord of this fully furnished and unexpectedly quaint California ranch. The 2,874-sq.-ft. single-storey home boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms, with the master bedroom featuring a bi-level closet, dressing room, and a spa-style bathroom with vibrant turquoise tile. The dining room opens out into the backyard featuring a large swimming pool and spectacular views of the city.
