Get ready, Halifax – Leafs Nation is coming to town. Well, to the Halifax suburb of Bedford, NS, actually.

The Toronto Maple Leafs open training camp for the 2015-16 NHL season at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence in Etobicoke today, beginning with player physicals and other off-ice activities, then head off to Bedford. On-ice activities begin on Friday, Sept. 18 at BMO Centre in Bedford, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There will be 400 tickets allotted for each day and sales will take place each day starting at 8:30 a.m. at the BMO Centre. Tickets can only be purchased that morning for the day’s session and each patron will only be able to purchase two tickets. Prices are a minimum donation of $5 per ticket, with all proceeds going to KidSport Nova Scotia, a program of Sport Nova Scotia which has long been a charitable partner of MLSE Foundation and the Leafs.

This year’s trip to Halifax marks the first time that the Maple Leafs have held a portion of their training camp outside of Ontario since the team traveled to St. John’s, Nfld. in 2001.
