Following the extraordinary success of SQ at Alexandra Park – one of the most distinctive communities to hit Toronto’s real estate market and now 90 per cent sold – Tridel has released SQ2, the second phase of this 18-acre community in the heart of Toronto’s trendy Queen West neighbourhood. Located steps from the vibrant intersection of Spadina and Queen Street West, Tridel's SQ2 is one of this year’s most highly anticipated projects – and with good reason. With a flurry of international recognition by the likes of the New York Times, Lonely Planet and dubbed one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world by Vogue, Queen West boasts some of Toronto’s most fashionable boutiques, unique restaurants, and cultural landmarks, not to mention its convenient proximity to several transit lines.

“SQ2’s distinctive location offers buyers everything they are looking for,” says Jim Ritchie, Tridel’s senior vice-president of sales and marketing. “Surrounded by transit, educational institutions, city parks, endless restaurant options and world-class shopping, this is an ideal place to
call ‘home’.”

Tridel, SQ2, Queen Street West, new condo construction

Recognizing the trend-setting culture in Queen West, Tridel invited the award-winning team at Teeple Architects to design a visually striking building that would add dimension and character to this already hip downtown locale.

Bearing semblance to SQ with a modern and contemporary façade of staggered geometric squares, SQ2’s 14-storey tower will include 169 suites available in a variety of one-bedroom to three-bedroom layouts, including 11 loft suites plus five
three-storey townhomes launching later this fall.

“Today’s condo buyers crave usable (functional) space,” adds Ritchie. “We incorporated feedback from buyers at SQ into the design of SQ2; this phase will include fewer suites to accommodate larger residences, including three-bedroom layouts, to address this growing demand.”

Ranging in size from 538 to a spacious 1,279 sq. ft., tower suites are priced from the mid-$300s.

Featuring interiors designed by the celebrated team at UNION31, the residences at SQ2 are as sleek and effortlessly cool as the building’s exterior. With thoughtful layouts, suites will feature nine- and 10-foot ceilings, premium laminate plank flooring, pocket doors, with select suites also featuring a terrace or patio.

The stylish kitchens will boast a choice of three cabinet finishes, granite or quartz countertops and matching backsplash, energy-efficient appliances, along with built-in stainless steel microwave, oven and glass ceramic cooktop. Bathrooms will include cultured marble vanity tops, soaker tubs or frameless glass shower.

To complement the endless recreational and social options available in the area, residents of SQ2 will also have access to an outstanding amenity program. Whether beginning the day with a morning workout in the state-of-the-art fitness centre complete with yoga and Pilates studio; entertaining guests in the party room complete with a fireplace lounge, catering kitchen and private dining room; or relaxing in the steam room or the hot tub on the outdoor rooftop terrace, residents will won’t ever have to leave home.
