At Logel Homes’ Auburn Rise customer is king

Auburn Rise, by any measure, is a success. In sales and industry acclaim, this first condo development from Logel Homes has set a high standard for multi-family lifestyle in the southeast lake community of Auburn Bay.

But the hallmark of its success has always been in customer service.

For the sixth consecutive year, Logel Homes won Best Customer Experience (Calgary Region, Large Volume Multi-Family) at the 2020 Home Owner Mark of Excellence (H.O.M.E) Awards. The H.O.M.E. Award is an independent certification program created by CustomerInsightTM and based solely on the voice of the customer. All scores and ratings are taken from surveys of homeowners.


“I am thrilled that we have now won this special award six years in a row,” says Logel Homes’ founder, Tim Logel. “Our dedicated teams worked together on our customer experience plan, and the results have been very rewarding for both the team and customers.”

Making the win even sweeter this time is that Brayden Logel, Logel Homes’ Vice President, Sales, Marketing, & Customer Experience, also took home CustomerInsight Industry Ambassador of the Year Award.

Brayden – his father, Tim says – has been the driving force behind Logel Homes’ industry-leading customer experience program.

“It’s an absolute honour to be named this year’s CustomerInsight’s Industry Ambassador of the Year – Western Canada,” Brayden says. “This award is validation that our commitment to the customer experience is resonating within the industry, and that positive results can happen if you encourage your entire organization to maintain focus on the things that truly matter, our homeowners.”

Although Logel Homes itself is relatively new, having only launched in 2017, Tim Logel and his family have been working in the industry for more than four decades, mostly with multi-family developer Cardel Lifestyles where Tim remains a partner.

“After 40 years in the housing business, having a consistent focus on exceeding customers’ expectations remains a top goal,” he says. All this experience was brought to bear on Auburn Rise. Its wide range of stylishly affordable condos that fit a wide range of lifestyles has been a hit with buyers.

The 2020 first quarter sales at Auburn Rise were off to a strong start, but the impact of COVID-19 has certainly caused an immediate slowdown in housing market activity and the economy more broadly, Tim says.

“Thankfully, measures put in place by the government and lending institutions, to help support homeowners through this difficult time, will help prevent more significant impacts in the housing market. With a stabilizing market and record-low mortgage rates, Auburn Rise continues to receive sales inquiries during these difficult times, and our team wants to make sure we’re still able to help people with housing needs,” he adds.

Logel Homes has adapted to the new situation and continue to find ways to provide their award-winning customer experience to customers – virtually! “We’ve created virtual walk-throughs so customers can browse show suites from the comfort of their own home, while our sales team gives them a guided Zoom tour of each of our suites. Private appointments can be arranged so that you, and only you are browsing the show suites in person – and as always, our teams are available through phone, email, Skype, or online chat.”

Strong customer outreach has worked at Auburn Rise. Its first two buildings are sold out, construction is almost finished for the third, and possession time for buyers is close. “We launched Building 4 at the end of last year and we’re continuing to see how popular condos in Aurburn Rise are,” Brayden says.

“Overall, Auburn Rise is about 60 percent sold out, with one more building (Building 5) to go.”
