An exciting new townhome development that is ideal for those who desire to be close to nature and appreciate having convenient amenities a stone’s throw away is being launched in the south Calgary community of Legacy.

Trico Homes is creating Legacy Commons, which encompasses 20, three-storey building blocks over 5.22 acres in Legacy located off of 210th Avenue at Macleod Trail S.E. The 139 townhomes feature two-and three-bedroom designs with garages and range from 1,141 to 1,178 sq. ft.

“We’re very excited about Legacy Commons; you’ll love entertaining in these spacious open concept three-storey homes,” says Marketing Manager Glenda Schwartz. “The townhomes are fully landscaped with front patios, come complete with two-car garages and offer a variety of features and finishes designed to fit your versatile lifestyle.”

Legacy Common is located in “south Calgary’s fastest growing new community,” Schwartz says. “Legacy is designed to ensure life’s necessities are always close to home with schools, playgrounds, walking paths, a community garden and a large future retail centre, as well as bus service that started in July.

“The community has 15 km of paved walking trails where residents can stroll past the two scenic ponds, playgrounds and manicured greenspaces and it borders 300 acres of protected environmental reserve land,” she adds. “It’s also minutes away from major shopping in neighbouring Shawnessy, major transportation routes, schools and the new South Campus hospital.”

Buyers will appreciate that Legacy Common offers well-appointed interiors that include granite or quartz countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, stacking washer and dryer in an upper floor laundry room, kitchen with an eating bar and pantry, nine-ft. ceilings on the main floor, private deck and patio with gas line hookup.

“You can also personalize your townhome by choosing from our choice of three different contemporary colour boards,” says Sales Associate Matthew Bultz, “and adding options and upgrades such as to luxury ceramic tile, vinyl plank flooring and a chimney style hood fan.”

The exterior is reminiscent of Arts & Crafts style with the feel of a modern cottage community, and it will be fully landscaped and feature a centrally located courtyard, to showcase trees, sitting areas and even more greenspace for homeowners to enjoy maintenance-free.

The project also offers an attractive starting price from the $270,000s plus GST and/or monthly payments from $1,275 permonth. Trico also offers a Flexible Down Payment Program.

“Legacy Commons provides a much desired affordable housing option in Legacy geared to first-time and first move-up homebuyers,” Bultz says. “Our buyers will consist primarily of younger couples and singles who may still be living with their parents, or currently renting or looking to move up from their first apartment condo. The majority of our future buyers will live and work in southeast Calgary prior to their purchase and desire a maintenance-free lifestyle.”
