Shane Homes’ Sovanna showhome in Belmont is loaded with so many show-stopping features, it’s no wonder so many buyers are replicating the designs in their own homes.

“Buyers love the features such as the central family room upstairs, the open lifestyle room on the main, and the upscale kitchen, but they literally scream with delight when they see the size of the walk-in closet in the owners’ suite,” says area manager Erin Jorgensen. “It’s absolutely massive…you could easily put a middle island inside the closet and still have room. We’re often recreating the walk-in closet and other popular features displayed in the Sovanna showhome in other models because we can customize our homes to suit our buyers’ needs.”

Among Jorgensen’s favourite sayings for Shane buyers is “love it or customize it,” and with the impressive 2,307-sq.-ft. Sovanna model, people enjoy doing both. “We’re getting terrific comments from people; they love Sovanna’s open design.”

The Sovanna makes a dynamic first impression right from the entry as visitors are greeted with an open design that allows them to see through to the rear of the home, giving it a grand feel. Off the foyer is a half-bath and mud room with a built-in bench and closet.

“Buyers love the lifestyle room, which is typically enclosed, creating a private office, but here we opened it up as a library,” Jorgensen says. “Of course, it can be customized to be a formal dining room or office to suit the buyer.”

At the rear of the home, the chef’s kitchen wows visitors with its huge island and breakfast bar, ideal for entertaining, built-in stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops and tile backsplash. A corner walk-in pantry provides ample food storage.

The living room has a fireplace surrounded in tile, topped by a niche for artwork or a TV, while the dining nook is brightened by a large window and patio doors to the deck, so homeowners can readily expand their dining space outdoors.

“Upstairs, buyers fall in love with the centralized family room because the vaulted ceiling really creates a grand feel and it separates the owners’ suite from the secondary bedrooms, creating a sense of privacy,” Jorgensen says. “They also like the convenience of the built-in IT centre in the loft.”

The spacious owners’ suite can easily accommodate king-sized furniture and the ensuite features dual sinks, make-up counter, soaker tub and an over-sized walk-in shower, plus there is that stunning walk-in closet.

Down the hall are two generously sized secondary bedrooms, each with walk-in closets, a full bathroom and upstairs laundry.

Jorgensen notes that Shane Homes can build homes from 1,700 to 3,000 sq. ft. in Belmont, depending on the lot size, and the Sovanna can be customized to a four-bedroom design. A new lot release is expected in April, “So we’ll have a number of new lots including corner and greenspace available.”
