The Yonge and Finch neighbourhood has seen incredible change over the years. What was once a sleepy suburban sprawl has blossomed into Ontario’s second-densest growth neighbourhood. The bustling TTC Station services nearly 100,000 commuters per day, and the multi-block boom of commercial and residential buildings in the area welcome an eclectic mix of professionals and residents.

Azura, by Capital Developments, is a 32-storey residential building coming to Yonge and Finch. It is a stunning feat of architecture with a unique, signature design and it
will forever change the face of this area.

Ideally located off Yonge Street, on Holmes Avenue, just steps south of Finch Station, the curved, stepped exterior designed by architects IBI Group gives Azura a serene, cloud-inspired look that is sure to make its mark on the impressive skyline. The sophisticated standard of living found within Azura really makes it a most enviable address.

“IBI Group raised the bar with their exquisite exterior design,” explains Capital Developments' co-founder and managing partner, Todd Cowan. “So we knew that the rest of the Azura design had to follow suit and promise an unparalleled lifestyle experience for our residents. The resulting design has exceeded expectation and definitely put luxury within reach for anyone who wants to live in this iconic neighbourhood.”

That measure of luxury is evident in each of Azura’s spacious 358 suites.

With expansive ceiling heights, Azura’s living spaces feel light and airy. Balconies, terraces and patios that are large enough to allow for unmatched views of the stunning Toronto skyline further extend the living spaces.

Remarkably, approximately 75 per cent of the views are south facing, a luxury that was built into Azura’s design from the beginning.“We wanted to have sun and as much natural light as possible in our suites,” says Cowan.

Single-plank engineered flooring and five-inch baseboards lay a rich, solid foundation, while the chic swing interior doors provide a contemporary flair. All suites contain individually controlled, on-demand heating and air conditioning, with double glazed, low emission glass windows, insulated to retain internal warmth and lower energy usage.

Gourmet kitchens include quartz counter tops, ceramic backsplashes with integrated appliances. A porcelain vanity sink with chrome faucets complements the bathroom IBI-designed cabinetry, while the pressure-balancing tub and shower controls assure the finest in comfort.

“All told, the design and feature package in our Azura suites is refined and distinctive,” adds Cowan. “We wanted to ensure that these unique touches were available to residents in all of the various unit sizes.” Azura’s suites come in one-, two- and three-bedroom options with a generous size range of 430 to 1,170 sq. ft.

While the units feel big, airy and private, the building itself has an intimate, boutique feel to it, affording residents a sense of community. A yoga studio, gym and golf simulator, the children’s playroom and library as well as the well-appointed party room complete the offering. The playroom has glass walls – with the party room on one side and the gym on the other. Parents will be able to watch their kids play while they visit with friends, work out or simply relax in Azura’s calming communal spaces.

Azura’s unrivalled community space continues out on the terrace, which is just steps from the chef’s kitchen in the party room. This enormous outdoor lounge space is the perfect place for Azura’s residents to entertain, as they look out over North York Centre’s burgeoning nightlife. There’s a sense of boundless room and possibility in Azura’s amenity spaces and lobby, aided by an uncommon double-height ceiling.

A new 12,000-sq.-ft. park will sit next to the building and provide a peaceful and green oasis between Azura and the bustle of the neighbourhood. Azura will be a landmark in North York Centre, and an ideal choice for the professional set, the active young family, and the empty nesters in the area, who have seen the value of their homes rise substantially over the last decade.
