La Prairie, located in the Montérégie region, is proud to announce a new $70-million Mega-Centre project as part of their strategic plan for sustainable development in the area.

The grounds for the new project are located at the intersection of the new Highway 30, and route Chemin Saint-Jean covers an area of approximately 100,000 sq. ft. The city has partnered with Devimco as well as Fond de pension des employés de la société de transport de Montreal (STM) and other provincial government ministers.

Thanks to the new commercial project, the city will also be able to consolidate its public space near the Saint-Jacques River. Over six hectares of land will be added to the conservation zones of La Prairie.

“We are very proud that this new project will conform to our strategic plan for sustainable development. This commercial sector will allow us to meet the concrete needs of our citizens and provide space much needed for businesses in the area as while creating jobs. The costs of the projects will also be covered by the revenues generated by the development,” said La Prairie Mayor Donat Serres.
