It’s Ovation Awards season, the time of year when the residential construction industry celebrates the best projects HAVAN members have built, renovated, designed and marketed in Metro Vancouver. Showcasing single-room renovations through to new condo developments and custom-built homes, HAVAN Ovation Award builders set the bar high as they go for gold!

Working with Landa Global Properties, Sublime Interior Design Ltd. created a showroom that has been nominated for Best Interior Design Display Suite: Multi- Family Home – providing a great opportunity to peek into the latest condo design trends.

Cascade City, a contemporary, multi-family complex, uses traditional elements including marble-inspired tile and quartz countertop backsplash for a clean look, offering durability and low maintenance for families on the go. The look is understated luxury, for a sophisticated clientele.

Efficient floorplans with open-concept kitchen and living areas plus walk-in closets and bathroom ensuites maximize available space. Full height windows brighten and visually expand units, offering lots of natural light.

Sublime Interior Design chose a uniform colour scheme to create a balanced and bright space. Sophisticated materials such as Calcutta gold marble tile, and lacquered finishes in the Aster Cucine Italian kitchen reflect the light, creating a posh look, while oak engineered hardwood floors warm the room with a durable design. A desirable sense of harmony is created with the combinations of light and dark colour schemes, complemented by added layers of tones and textures, featuring accent colours of navy blue and gold.

Display suites offer the buyer a look at the latest design features and offer inspiration on how to furnish one’s home. It is a good idea however to check with the builder first to determine what will be included in your suite. Before purchasing a pre-sale unit off plans or a display suite, it is always recommended to verify:

  1. Floor area to confirm actual living space. (Some showrooms will display partial suites to give you the experience versus displaying the actual unit.)
  2. Location and layout, as this can impact potential for natural light.
  3. Ceiling heights (often showrooms have ceilings higher than the actual units, which can affect design and visual appearance.)
  4. Options for suite finishes, cabinets and fixtures as this can change the end unit price.

And always, consult with your lawyer before signing any documents. The Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) Ovation Awards is an excellent resource to connect with award-winning builders, who are helping to build homes and shape communities where people desire to live.
