Christopher DeBoer of Sybrandt Creative teamed up with Aya Kitchens to design this eclectic and modern kitchen which is chock full of design inspiration for the New Year. Here are his five tips to keep in mind when planning your new cooking space.
- Instead of an all-white kitchen, use a mix of materials and coloursto add complexity and warmth to your space. It makes the kitchen feel more dynamic and inviting.
- Add character to your space by choosing details that fit your needs and personality. A really good way to bring in some interest is through hardware and backsplash tile.
- It’s all about choosing items that will look good in 10 or 15 years, rather than what is trendy. I think returning to the classics is the trend for 2019.
- Accessories and art are an easy way to bring a pop of colour to your space, especially adding plants in cute pots to help warm up the room.
- An easy and affordable update that anyone can do whether they are planning a kitchen Reno or not is to change the hardware.
