Fraser Valley offers affordable homes

The Fraser Valley is seeing heightened interest from local home seekers. The region offers beautiful views, a welcome change of pace, and homes at great values. As prices continue to escalate in each submarket of Vancouver and in surrounding areas, more purchasers are looking eastwards towards the Fraser Valley as they re-evaluate their home options.

Maximize your purchasing power

This spectacular region offers homebuyers greater purchasing power along with larger living spaces. As a result, the housing market in the Fraser Valley has seen a 75 per cent sold rate for new pre-sale inventory from January to April 2018. More home seekers are shifting their focus from Vancouver and its surrounding areas to the Fraser Valley, and buyers are trading certain conveniences such as commute time and ease of access to the urban core for more space. Raising children with a spacious backyard and utilizing more bedrooms in a family home are attractive features not typically available to many young families in Greater Vancouver.

A social hub

If you think moving to the Fraser Valley will limit your social life or activity schedule, think again. You’re a stone’s throw from many restaurants, wineries, farmers’ markets and seasonal activities such as pumpkin patches and Christmas tree farms, providing activities for the whole family year-round. Additionally, community events are frequent in the valley – from Abbotsford’s popular air show to the many sports events and concerts happening at the Langley Events Centre or Tradex.

A ripe market

If the Fraser Valley interests you, now may be the best time to act. The market has escalated at a tremendous rate over the last year (as of May 2018) and is expected to continue. As an example, Langley townhomes have appreciated 20 per cent over the last 12 months , compared to 10 per cent in Vancouver. With limited inventory on the market and a continuous stream of people wanting to call the Fraser Valley home, there has never been a better time to buy.

Spring is one of the busier times of the year for real estate and it will be exciting to see all the new projects scheduled for the region.
