The Goulbourn Recreation Complex, located at 1500 Shea Road, was renamed the CardelRec Complex - Goulbourn on March 5. The change was made due to a sponsorship agreement between the City of Ottawa and Cardel Homes Ottawa.

The sponsorship agreement is part of the city’s ongoing Community Champions Program, which provides sponsors with year-round recognition for their contribution to improving the lives of Ottawa residents where they live, work and play. Cardel Homes Ottawa will pay $40,000 a year for 15 years, for a total of $600,000.

“The city of Ottawa is pleased to welcome Cardel Homes Ottawa into this new investment partnership,” says Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson.

“Ottawa is a critical city in our business endeavours and we are thrilled to be collaboratively promoting CardelRec Complex with the city and encouraging a healthy, happy and fruitful lifestyle in our community,” says Greg Graham, president of Cardel Homes Ottawa:

Other Community Champion partners have included: Meridian Credit Union, IceNet Wireless, Richcraft, RBC, Coca-Cola, Minto, Myers, and Swim Ottawa. To date, revenue generated through the Community Champions program total $1.63 million since 2012.
