From its affordability and amenities, to its location and scenic vistas, there are a plethora of reasons buyers are being lured to Hillcrest in southwest Airdrie.

Thoughtfully designed by Apex Developments, Hillcrest offers a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere making it easy for residents to enjoy life on the hill.

“People love the fact that Hillcrest retained its natural landscape and scenic views. Plus, with the community almost completed, they’re relieved they won’t be surrounded by construction for years to come. All the amenities are already in place for them to enjoy as soon as they move in,” says Doug Judd, area manager for Excel Homes, which along with Shane Homes, is building in the final phases of development.

“They also benefit from Hillcrest’s location on the southern tip of Airdrie. Residents have almost the same commute time as new communities in Calgary, but are saving thousands of dollars on their homes,” Judd says.

“A big attraction for buyers is that the school is close to opening (a K to 8 school is scheduled to open in January 2020),” says Jamie Ivey, area manager for Shane Homes. “People love the location – they have a bus station about a 15-minute walk away that offers a direct route to downtown Calgary. They can walk to local commercial just across 40th Avenue, and they’re just a few minutes' drive from Airdrie’s major amenities.”

“Single-family laned homes start from the $320,000s here – that’s pretty amazing value. Plus, we offer great features and finishes and the ability to customize,” says Ivey.

In Hillcrest’s final phases, Excel is building laned single-family homes, front-drive garage duplexes and front-drive garage, and no-condo-fee townhomes, while Shane is building laned single-family homes and laned duplexes.

“There are still a few opportunities to build a front-drive garage single-family home in the community too, but people will need to act quickly before these lots are gone,” says Apex’s development co-ordinator Morgan Gowland. “Luckily, buyers still have their choice of lots in Phases 8 and 9 to build their dream home.”

Hillcrest’s single-family laned homes are “appealing to everyone from first-time buyers to downsizers, offering spacious options including loft, basement and garage developments. They even come complete with a landscaped front yard,” she says.

With Hillcrest now more than 90 per cent sold, buyers can enjoy “the benefits of having a new home in an established community with a great feel, mature landscaping and plenty of friendly neighbours,” she adds. As well, Hillcrest welcomes people home with a stunning entrance, which includes a grand stone tower – a focal point of the community – and completed amenities that include two playgrounds, an extensive pathway system, storm pond and a central gazebo.

Hillcrest is conveniently located just off 8th St. and 40th Ave., making it a quick drive to shops, services, restaurants, and recreation facilities in Airdrie, CrossIron Mills, and to major routes leading to the City of Calgary.
