Reconnecting with nature has been an ardent lifestyle wish for many new homebuyers, and the new community of Kin at Schonsee turns this dream into a reality with its enviable location in the established north Edmonton community of Schonsee.

Kin at Schonsee presents big city living with the wondrous majesty of nature right in your backyard – blending both worlds in a wholesome residential community the whole family will love.

Kin at Schonsee, developed by JL Developments, brings 85 single-family home lots to a prized location within the established and vibrant neighbourhood of Schonsee.

“Our community represents the first single family lots that directly back onto the existing 36-acre Schonsee Wetlands,” says JL Developments’ Jesse LaFrance. “Even one of our cul-de-sacs have been designed to include an expansive fully landscaped island in the centre to help bring nature to our resident’s doorsteps.”

The 12-acre Kin at Schonsee community focuses on a “kin-ship” with nature and over 40 per cent of its lots have views of the weltands and parks, he adds.

Though it may seem a world away from the city bustle, Kin at Schonsee has all the amenities needed to enjoy a modern lifestyle. It is close to shopping with the Manning Town Centre so close by, quick LRT access through Clareview Station, and some of Edmonton’s best restaurants are all just minutes from your door.

With all of these going for it, it is no wonder that sales have soared. “Sales activity has been incredible, and we are thrilled at the feedback the market has provided us over the past several months,” LaFrance says. “Similar to other quadrants of our city, North Edmonton is in a housing shortage, and we are thrilled to play a small role in providing needed housing to the community at large.”

Kin at Schonsee’s builder group is comprised of Royal Luxury Homes and Collections by Amrik. “They exude operational excellence that will provide our residents with exceptional customer service and value,” LaFrance says.

The homes will take advantage of the beautiful views that surround Kin at Schonsee and blend in with the natural surroundings. LaFrance points out that they will be more than just stunning - the homes will also be designed to have more efficient square-footage and space.

“We have received numerous calls from existing residents of Schonsee who are thrilled that the lands are being redeveloped and many have expressed interest in relocating to our new community,” he says. “Our buyers are predominantly young and growing families who already live in North Edmonton and they are looking for their forever home.”

Kin at Schonsee will be the perfect place for that, he points out, with prices starting from the $500,000s. “Our homeowners who can enjoy sunsets and watch the pelicans float on the shimmering water from the privacy of their backyards.”

Schonsee is located within the Lake District in north Edmonton, and its name is derived from the German word “schon” meaning “beautiful” and “see” for “lake”. It is a pleasant reminder of Edmonton’s strong ethnic diversity as well as its close connection to nature.

LaFrance says JL Developments purchased the land in May 2021 from the City of Edmonton. The land had sat idly for years while the rest of Schonsee was being developed. “Kin at Schonsee is the benfeciary of being surrounded by an established and vibrant community that is unique to new subdivisions,” he adds. Buyers will enjoy all that it has to offer as soon as they move in.

Construction of Kin at Schonsee will be complete late Summer 2021, LaFrance says. “We anticipate welcoming our first residents to the community in winter 2022 as builders start construction this upcoming fall.”
