Love at first sight at Q

For Javier Mateo, it was love at first sight the minute he saw Q in Sage Hill Quarter. The condo development by Morrison Homes Multi-Family in the northwest checked everything he could want for his new downsizer lifestyle.

“I have a background in civil engineering and architecture and the instant I saw Q, I knew it was what we wanted,” Javier tells Calgary New Home + Condo Guide.

Javier, his wife, Magdoxi, and two daughters – Maria Jesus, and Marcella – immigrated from Venezuela and moved to Calgary in 2017. They have been living in the northeast community of Livingston in a two-storey single-family home for the past couple of years. “But with my eldest daughter getting married, we find that it’s now too big for just the three of us.”

He was exploring northwest communities when he found the Q sales centre and instantly knew this would be the perfect new home for their scaled-down needs. “It’s like a small town of its own with plenty of amenities already in the development itself. The condo itself has a beautiful design and the suites are very comfortable and well-appointed.

In addition, Javier says the developers were “very receptive” to some of his suggestions that could improve the design, especially of the bedrooms. “The best part is now I don’t have a lawn to mow or a driveway to shovel.”

The low-maintenance lifestyle has always been a key appeal for Q. It is centrally located in the northwest community of Sage Hill, and lies in the very heart of a dynamic Sage Hill Quarter commercial centre, that is quickly becoming the retail and social hub of the neighbourhood.

“Q is the first condominium development specifically designed to fit within a commercial development. The development was designed in perfect harmony with what we think will be a very vibrant community over the next five to 10 years,” says Rob Kennedy, president of Morrison Homes Multi-Family.

The Sage Hill Quarter retail centre is a 16-acre mixed-use development that features an array of sought-after businesses and amenities. Developed by Ronmor, it is projected to have over 172,000 square-feet of commercial space aimed to bring a “urban vibe” to the northwest, says Kayla-Rae Maurer, marketing lead for Morrison Homes Multi-Family.

Sage Hill Quarter recently welcomed new businesses including a family doctor’s office, dentist, physiotherapy clinic, child daycare centre, vet, men’s barber shop, 30- minute fit, Tim Hortons and the popular Bow Tie Pizza chain. And more are coming soon and interested parties can check out the https://www.sagehillquarter.ca/directory for more information.

Best of all, this urban lifestyle that Q Condos offers is available at a fraction of the cost of living in the city core. The amenity-rich location ties in perfectly with the energetic lifestyle that Q Condos in Sage Hill Quarter offers.

“This is an ideal location, right in the heart of a commercial centre- with a host of local businesses.” she says.

The suites themselves are models of style, functionality and elegance, with a modern and sophisticated vibe that is unlike any other suburban multi-family.

“The condos already include upgraded features with gorgeous interiors, and stylish and functional floorplans. Residents are able to enjoy the secure heated underground parking, nine-foot ceilings, contemporary cabinetry, hard surface countertops, stainless steel appliances and array of designer interior selections. The specifications and building products selected for Q make these condos the epitome of stylish condo living in the coveted northwest.”

Maurer says floorplans offer a “dreamspace” option that can suit the buyer’s personal lifestyle choice. “It’s perfect for those working from home or couples who need a little more space,” she says.

Q Condos offer one- and two-bedroom suites up to 1,200 square-feet. There will be two buildings with a total of 173 condos. In building two, two separate guest suites are included, these guest suites will be available for use by all homeowners for their out-of-town guests.

Q Condos appeal to both the millennial and – like Javier – the rightsizer generations. The urban lifestyle it embraces is what many in these two generations of homebuyers are looking for - a community that offers ease of living convenience with an abundance of amenities and opportunities that allow them to be part of this walkable community.

“We are discussing getting a unit here as well for our youngest daughter,” Javier says, and his family is already excited to move in Q this month. “For us, Q stands for ‘quality’,”
