This year saw a ton of celebrity homes hit the real estate market. From sprawling vineyards, to the enormous winter getaways – these multi-million-dollar homes are just as impressive as their price tags. Here's a countdown of some of the most expensive celebrity home listings of 2015.

Robin Williams' 'Villa of Smiles'

Selling price: $22.9 million

celebrity mansions

Late comedian and actor, Robin Williams, was trying to rid himself of his Napa vineyard – appropriately titled, “Villa Sorriso” or “Villa of Smiles,” – for years. He first listed it back in 2012 for $35 million and then re-listed it in April 2014 for $29.9 million. After his death, the price dropped to $25.9 million, and in 2015, his widow axed another $3 million off the asking price, reducing it to $22.9 million.

The home is complete with five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and sits on 640 acres of land. The 20,000-sq.-ft. main residence features a bell tower, oak-panelled library, billiards room, a 12-seat home theatre, an elevator and safe rooms. The outdoor space is undoubtedly the main selling point with a 65-ft. infinity-edge pool, tennis court, 18 acres of vineyards, hiking and riding trails. The lot also features a caretaker’s house that contains four bedrooms.

Tyler Perry-900x600

In July 2015, Tyler Perry's Atlanta mansion, located in the prestigious Buckhead community, hit the market for a whopping $25 million.

The 34,688-sq.-ft. home sits on 17 acres of land overlooking the Chattahoochee River. The seven-bedroom, fourteen-bathroom home is complete with a gym, underground ballroom, movie theatre, two-storey library and spa. The backyard features a resort-style infinity-edge swimming pool and tennis court.

The home is still listed with Sotheby's International Realty. Maybe 2016 will be the year Perry sells it.

It's not everyday that an entire village enters the real estate market, but in June 2015, Johnny Depp put his private french village up for sale.

Located 17 miles north of St. Tropez, Depp's estate boasts 37 acres of land that is home to some amazing amenities including vineyards, olive trees, two pools, a skateboard park, fountains, a main house along with several guest cottages, a chapel, a bar and restaurant, and – best of all – a pirate-themed wine cellar that would make Jack Sparrow swoon.

celebrity mansions

Back in March, Tom Cruise listed his 298-acre holiday home that he once shared with ex-wife Katie Holmes. After spending little time at the four-bedroom getaway, Cruise decide to list the estate for $59 million. The interior includes a library, entertainment centre, recreation room and gym. The exterior boasts some extravagant amenities that are fitting for the adrenaline-junkie action-star including sporting facilities, and hiking and riding trails.

Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch

Selling price: $100 million

Michael Jackson-900x500

Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch is one of the most iconic pieces of real estate, and 2015 was the year it hit the market – for $100 million. The lucky buyer, however, will not be able to enjoy the child-like amenities that epitomized MJ's estate such as the zoo, amusement park and train station. The firm who purchased the home restored it and removed the theme parks and exotic animals. Now, instead of being Peter Pan's island dwelling, known around the world as "Neverland," the 2,700-acre mansion was renamed "Sycamore Valley Ranch," which was the name of the estate prior to when Jackson purchased it. To pay homage to the King of Pop, the clock of flowers that spells out "Neverland" was not removed.

The 12,000-sq.-ft. main home contains six bedrooms and staff quarters, as well as two guest homes. Some of the most defining features include a pair of lakes, a 50-seat movie theatre, swimming pool with cabana, basketball court, tennis court and barbecue area.
