Step inside Dracula's Castle

Bran Castle, home to the blood-thirsty fictional character Count Dracula, is on the market. And in true vampire fashion, Dracula's castle will suck your wallet dry.

Sprawled across the mountains in Romania, formerly Transylvania, Bran Castle set the perfect stage for Bram Stoker's fear-inducing novel, Dracula. However, aside from the fictional character, a very real and equally venomous character also roamed the hallways of this dark, looming castle: Vlad Tepes, also known as “Vlad the Impaler.” Known for skewering his enemies on sharpened spikes, the 15th-century Romanian warlord – and the inspiration behind Stoker's novel – was briefly imprisoned deep down in the castle’s dungeon.

Fast forward a few hundred years and the castle is now a popular tourist attraction, bringing in more than half a million paid visitors annually. Of course, this makes it a key investment opportunity for those looking to tap into a vampire-crazed society. However, it'll cost the buyer a whopping 47 million pounds (CA$85 million).
