Branthaven Homes recently gathered homebuyers and dignitaries to break ground as construction begins at the award-winning Lake House, its newest, unrivaled waterfront community in Grimsby.

It’s been less than a year since Lake House was launched and with more than 300 homes sold, homebuyers were eager to gather and share their enthusiasm as they divided their time between pointing out their suites and gazing at the lakefront views before them.

Steve Stipsits, president of Branthaven Homes, shared the ground-breaking honors with Grimsby Mayor Bob Bentley who explained the vision of the area and the future extension of the Waterfront Trail, which will ultimately link Lake House to Confederation Park.

Stipsits called the land and location, with its expansive lake frontage “unprecedented and unmatched in the region. What sets Lake House apart from other so-called waterfront developments is its actual location directly on the shores – 17.5 acres of prime waterfront real estate with direct waterfront access, protected beaches, fantastic amenities and panoramic lake views.”

Stipsits laughed as he thanked the Grimsby council for rejecting their application – twice. “Each time it forced us to come back with something even better.”

The final result is Lake House – a lakeside resort-inspired community with three collections of coastal-styled townhomes and two midrise condominiums of boutique condos. Their surroundings include landscaped paths, lakefront promenades and parks. Residents will walk out to protected greens, waterfront walkways and endless vistas of the lake, blue sky and the escarpment.

Branthaven Homes will continue to respect the context of the site’s waterfront location by delivering authentic architecture with upgraded elevations of character.

“Our award-winning architecture and elevation styles are always sensitive to their locale context. They are never designed in isolation or out of character,” says Stipsits. “With BeachHouse, Wave Condos and Bravo-by-the-Lake, our customers have come to expect exceptional architecture that pays homage to a site in which it rests, and that’s just what we will do at Lake House, the last landmark site on the shores of Lake Ontario.”

The two condo buildings will be built facing each other with a pool and courtyard in between. Situated perpendicular to the lake, they will enable the majority of suites to view the lake to the north as well as the Niagara Escarpment to the south. Floorplans range from one- to two-bedroom plus den, from 465 to 1,185 sq. ft. in size. The buildings will share an outdoor pool, gazebos, outdoor terraces, exercise gym with yoga studio and cardio and pet spa, while each one will have its own games room, entertainment area, dining area and catering kitchen.

The Shoreline Town Collection will reside on the water’s edge, a perfect blend of classic cape cod coastal styling with glass paneled balconies and large windows for great views. These luxurious two-storey towns have a fully finished walkout basement.

Located at the heart of the community and only steps from the lake is The Waterside Town Collection. Traditional two- and three-storey town plans provide innovative layouts. The three-storey rear lane towns feature a double car garage and large open-concept living with a unique walkout deck at the back of the townhome.

The Village Collection is made up of two-storey townhomes located above an independent street level commercial space. A great alternative to typical condos, they offer an independent entrance and surface level parking.

“We’ve got everything here – homes, retail, location,” says Stipsits. In addition, construction is underway on the Grimsby GO Station located nearby. Grimsby Harbor, Grimsby Beach, Murray Street Park and Nelles Beach Park are also nearby landmarks that are all on the water – just like Lake House.

Suites and towns are still available, with completion and occupancy is expected in early 2018.
