Since 1943, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) has been the voice of Canada’s residential construction industry. Representing one of the largest industry sectors in Canada, CHBA’s membership is made up of over 8,500 companies – including home builders, renovators, land developers, trade contractors, product and material manufacturers, building product suppliers, lending institutions, insurance providers, and service professionals.

CHBA BC is the BC chapter, and also seeks a strong and positive role for the housing industry in British Columbia’s economy and in the life and development of BC communities. In addressing this goal, CHBA BC supports the business success of their members, and a big part of this is the annual Georgie Awards. The Georgie awards celebrate the best of BC’s building industry, usually delivered at a fun and dramatic black-tie gala.

Due to the pandemic, for the first time ever, the Georgie Awards will be held online in a virtual format, scheduled for June 26. As government and business begin to look towards economic recovery, preparations at CHBA BC are underway to deliver an exciting and unique online Georgie Awards event to celebrate excellence in homebuilding, highlighting both the finalists and winners.

Why should consumers take note of the Georgie Award winners from this year and past years? Explains CHBA BC CEO Neil Moody, “With every year seeing a greater and greater number of entries to become crowned a Georgie Awards winner, it should be no surprise why this honour should be a top-pick for consumers when looking for a professional in the residential construction industry. The Georgie Awards ensures that only the best-of-the-best receive this designation through our highly-qualified professional judges, with years of experience as peers within the industry, to determine who is best to reflect what housing excellence truly means. Look for a Georgie Award winner to see the most dedicated, skilled and qualified that our industry has to offer.”
