The Dakota, New York

La calle dei Sol, or “Street of the Sun,” was initially built as a lodge for a religious community. In 1945, it was converted into the headquarters for the Columbian Intelligence Service, where they incarcerated and tortured prisoners. The building is now an apartment complex and residents have reportedly heard screams, moans, laughs, as well as punches and whippings. The restaurant employees claim to feel pats on their back, and things are mysteriously found out of place. People believe these strange occurrences are the ghosts of those who were tortured.
