Third-time Heathwood buyers

For Dalia Bishara and her husband, Georges Bishai, their decision to purchase a townhome at Heathwood Homes’ South Kitchener community, Wallaceton, was an easy one to make. This is their third purchase from Heathwood Homes in 13 years, and according to Dalia, the location is perfect for this stage of their lives. “We bought our first Heathwood home at Traditions in Milton when it opened in 2006,” she says. “It was semi-detached. Then we wanted something bigger, so we bought a detached home in the community, and we’ve been there for 10 years. Our son, David, is on his own now, and our daughter, Rita, will attend Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo next year. Our current residence is a huge corner detached home, and we simply don’t need all of that space anymore. The townhome at Wallaceton is ideal.”

Before they found out about Wallaceton, the couple had looked around the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area. Then they received an email from Heathwood about Wallaceton, and the timing was right. “I work as a payroll manager in Burlington, and Georges is an accounts receivable supervisor in Waterloo. The new location will be good for commuting.” She adds that the location offers much more. “Really, there is everything we could need right in Kitchener.”

In addition, the master-planned Wallaceton neighbourhood will feature shops, a park and parkettes, quiet trails, a school and recreation centre. The community is also home to a town centre with boutiques and eateries, and the city’s largest sports facility, RBJ Schlegel Park, is just across the street.

Dalia and Georges chose the 2,773 sq.-ft. (includes 638 sq.-ft. finished lower level) Forbes (Elevation A) end unit complete with charming peaked gables and an inviting entryway. “I’ve always loved Heathwood’s designs,” Dalia explains. “There is no wasted space in the townhome we bought. It has four bedrooms, 3.5 baths and several walk-in closets.”

Dalia adds, “We have learned that even if the competition seems less expensive, it’s worth paying extra for a Heathwood home, because you get a lot more for your money. We are interested in quality and beauty on the inside and out, as well as good service, and we get it all with Heathwood. We are convinced we made the right decision.”

Townhomes range in size from 1,785 to 2,733 sq. ft. (including finished lower level) and start from $559,900. Single-detached homes from 2,025 to 2,600 sq. ft. begin from $708,900; $728,900 with finished lower level. Interiors include open-concept gourmet kitchens with dramatic architectural accents, oversized picture windows, nine-ft. ceiling heights, oak stairs, a freestanding soaker tub in the master bath and much more. For a limited time, receive a bonus of five appliances: stainless steel fridge, stove, dishwasher and front load washer/dryer or air conditioning or $5,000 in Décor Dollars.
