Prince Edward Island is a beautiful place to visit, with popular Anne of Green Gables attractions, scrumptious seafood, beautiful beaches, and Cows Ice Cream – not to mention the friendly residents and great communities.

Who wouldn't want to live here? If you're thinking of a move to the east coast, here are the top five Charlottetown neighbourhoods you should consider making your new home.

Brighton

Brighton, Charlottetown, PEI

With a prestigious and elegant Victorian-era vibe, Brighton is close to downtown and is primarily residential. Houses range from $100,000 to $400,000, according to PEI Real Estate Association., and rents are typically $700 and up, according to Kijiji.

The area offers access to public transit, schools, and green spaces, not to mention lovely Victoria Park with its waterfront boardwalk. This charming neighbourhood is ideal for families of all ages, singles, and retirees.

Sherwood

Belvedere Golf Club, Charlottetown

Blending residential and industrial developments, Sherwood is home to many types of businesses. The community has a middle-class vibe and is located east of downtown.

Housing prices fall within the $100,000 to $300,000 range, and rents begin at $600. This busy neighbourhood is close to all core amenities, including hospitals, schools, parks, and green spaces – including the Belvedere Golf Club.

Centrally located, Sherwood is great for singles, couples, and families of all ages.

East Royalty

East Royalty, Charlottetown, PEI

North of Sherwood and east of downtown, East Royalty is a middle-class residential and business neighbourhood. Housing prices range from $100,000 to $300,000, and rents start at $750.

East Royalty provides access to public transit, schools, green spaces, and parks, and it is also close to the Charlottetown Airport. Close to downtown Charlottetown, the neighbourhood is suitable for all ages of singles, families, and retirees.

West Royalty

West Royalty, Charlottetown

West Royalty is an upper-middle-class neighbourhood with several smaller subdivisions within it. Houses range from $100,000 to $400,000 and there are very few rentals in the area.

Public transit is available, and there are green spaces, lots of shopping, schools, soccer pitches, and plenty of waterfront property. Close to everything, West Royalty is desirable for families of all sizes and ages.

Downtown Charlottetown

Downtown Charlottetown

Downtown Charlottetown is the business, shopping, and cultural centre of town. Houses here range from $100,000 to $300,000, with rents starting at $500.

Public transit is available, and the area contains schools, restaurants, government facilities, shopping, and cultural centres. While the downtown area is suitable for everyone, it is ideal for college or university students.
