The opening of a new community is always a big deal, and Trico Homes has always been instrumental in creating the best first impression through its award-winning line of show homes. The builder certainly creates this desired impact once again as it launches its new laned show homes in the just-opened community of Chelsea.

The Bellview and The Rowan II are two of Trico’s best-selling laned homes and they were chosen to star in this exciting new community for the stylish affordability and family-friendly practicality they both offer. Both are three-bedroom homes with two-and-a-half bathrooms and an enticing curb appeal that have become the hallmark for Trico’s laned products.

Trico Homes’ marketing manager, Glenda Schwartz, says Trico’s laned homes are ideal for first-time homebuyers or those looking to right-size. “They offer great value and spacious living spaces for a new family or retiree,” she tells Calgary New Home + Condo Guide.

The Bellview in particular is becoming quite the hit with its large galley style kitchen that Schwartz says works particularly well in the 1,540-square-foot home, as it lends itself to plenty of entertaining possibilities and addresses the ever-pressing need for more storage space.

“The Bellview is a unique home - the spacious great room at the front of the home features large, bright windows allowing for light to flow through to the nook and kitchen,” she says. “Upstairs there are two secondary bedrooms and a master suite with a walk-in closet and four-piece ensuite including dual vanities. Outside there’s a large 12-feet-by-10-feet rear deck that’s great for family barbecues.”

Like all its laned home products in Chelsea, the Bellview’s standard specifications include nine-foot ceilings that have become one of the most popular upgrade requests in the past decade. All homes will also come with quartz countertops, MDF cabinets and solid core plank flooring across the main floor.

“Our Elements specification in Chelsea provides buyers with a home that’s more than just the basics,” Schwartz says. “From functional kitchens to durable exterior finishes, these features create a house that buyers will be proud of for years to come.”

Buyers get to pick from six colour packages ‘hand crafted’ by Trico’s interior designers, which gives them the ability to personalize and turn this house into their home, she adds.

Adding to its appeal is that lot sizes in Chelsea are bigger. “In fact, our lots are larger than the traditional lots in Calgary and have better pricing than zero-lot line homes in Calgary,” Schwartz says.

Competitive land prices may account for Chestermere’s phenomenal growth. Since it became a city in 2015, Chestermere – known for the luxury lakeside lifestyle it offers - has enjoyed a 34 per cent growth rate in its population.

Trico Homes realizes Chestermere’s tremendous upside and is joining in its growth in a big way. They are not only opening show homes in Chelsea but also in the nearby new community of Dawson’s Landing. The former is developed by Anthem United and the latter by Qualico Communities. Both are on the west side of Chestermere and just 10 minutes from the eastern border of Calgary.

Schwartz says both Chelsea and Dawson’s Landing are ideally situated as a jumping-off point for lake recreation in Chestermere, as well as travelling to Calgary and many regional attractions. “Chestermere is also a destination in its own right.”

Chelsea will feature a neighbourhood node that will be the heart of the community. “It will bring people together for shopping, recreation and education. There will also be two connected pathway systems – a north and south loop – to provide connectivity between all community amenities.”

Trico offers seven different floorplans for their laned homes in Chelsea, including laned bungalows. “We are the only builder here offering this type of laned home that has become quite popular among the downsizer set,” Schwartz says. Trico’s laned homes in Chelsea start from the low $370,000s. “Even with everything going on, we’ve already had a few sales in the community, which just goes to show its tremendous appeal.”

Trico isn’t just famous for its innovative home styles, but in the circumspect way it runs its business, too.

With the current restrictions in visiting show homes imposed by the COVID-19 lockdown, Trico Homes turned to its strong online presence to maintain its connections with its customers and bring its line of homes front and centre to the public.

“Trico’s show homes are always open online! Our leading-edge AI enabled platform provides a personalized and guided experience,” Schwartz says. Visitors can go on virtual home tours, download maps, floorplans and resources to assist them in finding their dream home, and ask questions and get answers in real time. “tricohomes.com lets you learn everything about your future home and future community,” she adds.
