Why buy a condo in the GTA?

Why buy a condo in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)? I can think of five excellent reasons right away.

Price. Statistics bear out the fact that condominiums are the popular choice of buyers in Toronto and its surrounding 905 areas. Month after month, year after year, condo sales outpace low-rise. And as much as prices have risen, when it comes to the rest of the world, our condominiums are still well priced for what we get. No where else across the globe do purchasers have as much opportunity to select their features and finishes. Condos here are much more affordable than low-rise homes, and they remain the solution of choice for first-time buyers.

Location, location, location. On the international stage, Toronto has ranked 7th of 140 cities in the Economist’s Livability Survey, 5th of 110 cities for the best location for Millennials to live in, 16th out of 231 cities in Mercer’s Quality of Living Survey, and the list goes on. Take a peek at Toronto.ca World Rankings for an idea of how we rank. Plus, on the local scene, developers are offering a multitude of fabulous condominium locations across Toronto and the GTA. These residences are situated close to amenities and public transportation, making them perfect for everyone from first-time homebuyers to families and empty-nesters.

Access to building amenities. Think about it: From sprawling penthouses to the most compact of suites in a residence, everyone has access to spectacular shared spaces such as state-of-the-art fitness centres, chic party rooms that open onto glorious terraces with barbecues and dining spaces, lounges, theatres, pet spas, libraries, courtyards, and/or retail venues right at home. In essence, these are extensions of your living space, and our developers are going all out to make the amenities in their condos fantastic.

Security. In surveys, many people (particularly families, single women and empty-nesters) rank security at the top of their must-have list when it comes to deciding on condominiums. This is especially true in large cities such as Toronto. Concierge service offers great peace of mind, with someone greeting you at the front door at any time of the day or night. This uniformed professional places a human face on the building, observing the comings and goings to and from the building. The concierge is a visible reminder to those passing by that this residence maintains a vigilant eye on the street. In addition, condo features usually include exterior parking doors monitored by the concierge through carefully placed security cameras, as well as secondary entrances that also call for card access.

Variety. Shopping for a new condo in the GTA is a fascinating process! Condos are popping up in fabulous locations close to shopping, transit and other local amenities. Condominiums span the gamut from intimate residences to mid-rises and high-rise towers in a gorgeous range of architectural styles. Inviting amenities, space-maximizing suite layouts, luxurious features and finishes, attainable price points… why buy a condo in the GTA? The real question is, why not?
