It’s a neighbourhood that scores top marks in just about every category, from entertainment, eateries and shopping, to transit, employment, and even health and lifestyle. Now, this trendy Yonge and Eglinton community is getting closer to welcoming new residents.

On the south side of Eglinton Avenue East, excavation is complete, concrete has been poured and the crane is installed at Menkes’ midtown tower, aptly named The Eglinton.

This construction milestone brings the development another step closer to reality for those who staked their claim and are looking forward to moving into this vibrant, walkable community.

“We’re very pleased with the construction progress at The Eglinton, and we know our buyers are as well,” says Jared Menkes, vice-president High-Rise Residential. “When you’re able to start seeing the project come to life right before your eyes, it’s an exciting time; especially for future residents who are looking forward to building their lives in the heart of one of Toronto’s most sought-after communities.”

Also set for The Eglinton tower – and coming soon to market – is a collection of office condos available in layouts from approximately 600 to 1,200 sq. ft. Fronting on Eglinton and well-positioned on the second floor of the building, these office spaces will feature up to 14-ft. ceilings and owner-customized features and finishes.

With its distinctive 34-storey glass exterior designed by award-winning firm Giannone Petricone Associates, and its stunning exterior landscape created by NAK Design Group, The Eglinton will fit in with its surrounding and also help to enhance the neighbourhood.

NAK Design Group created the ideal outdoor setting for socializing and relaxing, featuring a landscaped terrace with a sun deck, lounge seating, barbecue facilities and outdoor dining area, all overlooking Forest Hill, north Toronto and the city skyline south to Lake Ontario.

Inside The Eglinton, suites are available in a range of layouts, from studios to two-bedrooms, from 359 to 871 sq. ft., and priced from the high $200,000s. Features and finishes include laminate flooring throughout, porcelain or ceramic tile floors in the bathroom and in-suite laundry area with stacked Energy Star washer and dryer.

The chef’s kitchens feature unique custom-designed cabinetry by award-winning Mike Niven Interior Design, quartz countertops with ceramic or porcelain backsplash; stainless steel under-mounted sinks with single-lever faucet; and a collection of brand name appliances. The master ensuite includes an MNID custom-designed cultured marble vanity top and integrated sink basin; and a soaker tub.

In addition to its incredible outdoor amenities, The Eglinton offers a great selection of indoor amenities too that enhance the lifestyle options for residents. There’s a fully equipped gym with cardio and weight machines, a state-of-the-art wireless lounge with a range of multi-media programs and games, and plenty of spaces for entertaining and enjoying time with family and friends.

On top of all that, in a forward-thinking move, Menkes created a colourful space within the building dedicated to families with children. It’s a dynamic community-minded room where youngsters can explore, play or enjoy music and books.

“Not only does The Eglington offer its residents beautiful design and smart amenities, it also has an ideal location,” says Mimi Ng, vice-president, Sales & Marketing Residential. “Our future residents recognize the appeal of a project like this in a neighbourhood like Yonge and Eglinton, and the connectivity of this neighbourhood to the rest of the city.”

The Eglinton will offer unsurpassed access to both the Yonge-University TTC subway line, as well as the Eglinton Crosstown LRT (now under construction).

“The transit options will make getting anywhere in Toronto simple and convenient for residents,” says Ng. “From The Eglinton, you’ll be able to get where you need to go, and then get back home again with ease. And with everything available to residents of The Eglinton, we’re sure they’ll want to be home as much as possible!”
