Prices vary greatly across Canada, from Vancouver to Calgary to Toronto to Montreal and beyond. Do you think you have what it takes to score 100 per cent on our Canadian housing quiz? Here’s a little refresher before you test your real estate knowledge.

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), national home sales in April 2016 rose to their highest level ever. Of course, the average price of a condo or home varies from market to market, but do you know by how much?

The Royal LePage House Price Survey released on April 7, 2016 revealed the average prices across the country from the first quarter of 2016. The average housing prices can be found below (and used as a bit of a cheat sheet).

Vancouver

In April 2016, the average price of a home in Vancouver was $1,091,767, according to the CREA. Because the prices change between Vancouver and Greater Vancouver, both market prices are included below from Royal LePage's report.

Two storeys: $1,418,231
Bungalows: $1,116,136
Condos: $487,300

Average housing prices in Vancouver

Two storeys: $2,374,155
Bungalows: $1,302,427
Condos: $578,516

Calgary

According to CREA, the average home price in Calgary was $460,114 in April 2016.

Edmonton

In April 2016, the CREA indicated the average home price in Edmonton was $377,283.

According to the CREA, the average price in Toronto in April 2016 was $739,082. The average prices vary between the GTA and Toronto's core, so specific prices are listed below for your reference.

Montreal

In Montreal, the average home price was $337,015 in April 2016 according to the CREA. Prices vary between different areas of Montreal. The prices listed here reflect the averages in the Greater Montreal Area as well as Montreal Centre.
