The Festival City is known for its action packed summers. Nearly every weekend has a full roster of festivals and events. Here are seven festivals you can’t miss this summer in Edmonton.
Edmonton International Street Performers Festival, July 3-12, 2015
Save the dates and juggle your schedule to take in some of the great street performers at Churchill Square! Acrobats, fire spinners, sword swallowers, magicians, clowns and plenty of laughs! Entrance is free but come with cash as all outdoor performers are paid in the pass-the-hat tradition.
Taste of Edmonton, July 16-25, 2015
Taste the best cuisine Edmonton restaurants have to offer, participate in workshops, culinary adventures and enjoy a daily line-up of incredible live entertainment on the square. Warning: come with an empty stomach!
K-Days, July 17-26, 2015
Edmonton’s annual exhibition kicks off with the K-Days Parade down Jasper Avenue, a true Edmonton tradition. Follow that with 10 days of live concerts, rides, carnival food, shopping and fun. It’s time to party Edmonton!
Heritage Festival - Aug. 1-3, 2015
It’s the 40th Anniversary for this three-day celebration of Canada’s multi-cultural heritage! Hawrelak Park becomes a cultural village with 85 countries showcasing their food, cultural performances, artwork and goods.
Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Aug. 6-9, 2015
Every summer this world-class folk music festival hosts an exceptional line-up of local and international performers. The four day event is a 45-year-old tradition for thousands of Edmontonians and Gallagher Hill comes alive with main stage performances, back dropped by the sun set and downtown skyline. Tickets sell out fast, but can still be bought through online classifieds.
Cariwest Caribbean Arts Festival, Aug. 7-9, 2015
This three day celebration of Caribbean culture kicks off with a grand parade of over-the-top costumes filling the streets with island rhythms! Churchill Square transforms into a Caribbean Village with live performances, authentic cuisine a whole lot of colour and passion for this tropical culture.
