Smaller, non-Toronto companies were the big winners – again – as Tarion Warranty Corp. this week named the recipients of the 2015 Tarion Awards of Excellence as the top home builders in Ontario.

Three of the four winners of the awards, the only such program in Ontario that recognizes new home builders based solely on homeowners’ satisfaction with their customer service delivery, were repeat winners from last year.

“A home builder’s job isn’t complete just because the last tile has been laid,” says Howard Bogach, president and CEO of Tarion Warranty Corp. “The Tarion Awards of Excellence recipients recognize the positive impact of exceptional customer service long after they’ve handed over the keys."

In the highrise category, The Tricar Group of London won for the second year in a row, over stalwart home builders such as Mattamy Homes, The Daniels Corporation and Tridel.

“I started this company 30 years ago, and to be here today in Toronto, and first of all to be nominated with some of the biggest names in the industry, people that I used to try to model my business after, and not only to be nominated with them but to win this award again for the second year, I just can’t tell you how proud I am of my staff and the people we have working for us,” Tricar President Joe Carapella told New Home & Condo Guide. “Unbelieveable.”

In the Large Volume Category, Fusion Homes of Guelph won for the fourth consecutive year. Finalists included Monarch Corporation and Tribute Communities.

“It’s amazing, we’re very honoured and I have to tell you every year it gets better and better,” says Fusion CEO Lee Piccoli. “For us, what really stands out about this is that it’s our homeowners that are speaking and picking the winners of this award.”
