With the first of two towers now complete and residents moving in, The Guardian has established itself as being the city’s tallest residential buildings and is now a recognizable landmark on Calgary’s skyline.

Situated in the up-and-coming Victoria Park neighbourhood, The Guardian’s north tower, which soars to 44 storeys, sold out quickly and the response to the second tower under construction to the south has been tremendous with sales at over 50 per cent and completion scheduled for next summer.

“Unlike some other projects, you can see and touch The Guardian,” says Ernest Hon, director of sales and marketing at Hon Developments. Residents have already started moving into their homes at The Guardian, and anyone now looking at purchasing in the second tower will appreciate the construction progress and the reassurance of timely completion.

The 620 units of The Guardian will bring almost 1,000 people to the Victoria Park neighbourhood, contributing to a wave of change in the community.

“The change in Victoria Park over the past year has been tremendous – just this summer, several great new restaurants have opened up in the neighbourhood and two new parks have just been completed,” Hon says.

“The construction of the two residential towers is well timed with a lot of development in the area, such as the National Music Centre and the New Central Library, both which are now under construction and just two blocks away from the Guardian. Together with all the activity in nearby East Village and Inglewood, The Guardian is the perfect vantage point for residents to discover all the great things going on in this part of the urban core.”

The Guardian has a variety of plans available with one bedrooms ranging from 441-572 sq. ft. starting at $278,900, two bedrooms from 809-979 sq. ft. starting at $445,900, and the Paramount Suites above the 36th floor, which have interior spaces of up to 2,619 sq. ft. starting at $1.4 million.

“One thing we’ve noticed is as soon as people started moving in, anyone who walks into their new home for the first time spends a good amount of time just admiring the views,” Hon says. “The balconies on these homes are quite large, and the downtown, river and mountain views are really breathtaking.”

Each of the homes at The Guardian have floor-to-ceiling windows, including expansive windows in every bedroom and modern open-concept interiors.

A top selling feature is the spectacular kitchens that showcase high-end cabinetry manufactured in Italy by Armony Cucine that offers unparalleled quality, functionality and durability and quartz countertops. The appliances are sleekly integrated into the cabinetry and include a professional-grade induction cook top by Germany’s AEG. Elegant bath-rooms are also highlighted by Armony Cucine cabinetry, along with sleek polished chrome fixtures, frameless glass showers and a unique micro-mosaic tile feature wall.

“One of the things we’re most proud of is the layout of our suites,” Hon says. “Our designers really focused on the floor plans, and optimized them to work with people’s lifestyles. Our living-room spaces are designed to be fairly square, making it easy for furniture layout. There are no awkward corners; we’ve ensured these spaces are large and spacious.”

The Guardian’s exterior presents distinctive modern architecture with glass window walls and metal panels that, combined with its remarkable height, make a dramatic impact on the skyline and a coveted address for residents.

Residents will also be impressed by the onsite amenities that include a fully-equipped fitness centre, yoga studio, workshop, social lounge and rooftop garden terrace.
