Calgary new showhomes pack a design punch
August 21, 2023
It has been a long hot summer and it’s not over yet, but builders are getting ready for what looks to be a robust fall market as new home sales in Calgary continue to surge.
This year is seeing the return of heavy traffic to showhomes, even as more new home designs in more new communities pop up. Showhomes have always been the best tool for homebuilders to attract buyers. It allows them to not only show off their skill and expertise in building but gives buyers an aspirational glimpse of the lifestyle that is possible for them.
All the new communities in Calgary and region have exciting showhome parades to go through, and Calgary New Home + Condo Guide is here to “guide” new homebuyers on their picks and here are a few of our favourite new and upcoming showhome parades.
Greystone
Cochrane is on the fast track to progress, and nowhere can this be seen better than in the new community of Greystone, which will be opening four new showhomes on September 23, 2023, says Josh Hagen, vice-president of development for Burnswest Properties.
“The opening of our first set of showhomes in the community of Greystone marks a significant milestone for all the partners and the developer Burnswest Properties in drawing future residents in to view all the progress and construction throughout the community to date including all the infrastructure, roads and sidewalks, parks and playgrounds, etc.”
Greystone will be opening front-attached garage showhomes by Prominent Homes and Green Cedar Homes. There will also be two rear-laned single family showhomes by Douglas Homes and Rohit Communities. “There are also duplex homes available from both Douglas Homes and Rohit Communities,” Hagen says. This is the first opportunity to come and visit, tour the showhomes and truly absorb the vibe of this new and exciting community in Cochrane.
Vertos condominium townhomes from Ocgrow Communities are also available with showhomes to come later.
“Our location and vibrant mix of uses makes Greystone the ideal live, work play community,” he tells Calgary New Home + Condo Guide. “We are situated immediately next to downtown Cochrane, wrapped around the south and east by the Bow River and its river pathway system. Greystone is also connected directly with the existing 325,000 square foot Spray Lakes Family Sports Centre which is home to a variety of sporting opportunities and events.”
The homes themselves are reflective of Cochrane’s rich history and growth, he adds. “The homes celebrate the nature surrounding them, and green spaces abound, while stunning floorplans and luxurious finishes include every modern convenience. Likewise, the central setting offers access to new and existing shops and stores, healthcare, and wellness services, and so much more.”
Greystone is close to the river for walking and being able to utilize the outdoors, the Spray Lakes rec center just next door is a fantastic place for families year-round and really comes to life in the summer with the outdoor water park as well as the large facility for baseball diamonds and pickleball right in the heart of the community.
