With the finishing touches underway, buyers are thrilled to be moving into their new homes in the second of two towers that make up The Guardian – Calgary’s tallest residential buildings and a dynamic landmark in up-and-coming Victoria Park.

Crafted by Hon Developments, The Guardian’s first tower sold out quickly and the second tower is now 60 per cent sold although there is still a wide selection of one- and two-bedroom units available.

“We’re very pleased with the response to The Guardian,” says Ernest Hon, director of sales and marketing. “We’re just wrapping up with construction of the second tower and will expect to be completed with the finishing touches over the next couple of weeks.”

“As residents of Victoria Park would have noticed, the landscaping around the building has been completed, and the Beltline cycle track on 12th Avenue has now opened right up to the Stampede Grounds,” he adds. “And, new homeowners have already begun to take possession of their new homes, and so far they’re thrilled with moving into the building and the neighbourhood. We expect the move-ins to continue over the next two months.”

“We’ve continued full speed ahead with construction because we’re confident in Calgary, and we’re confident in Victoria Park. The economy in this city is cyclical, and we’ve seen downturns before. But we’ve always rebounded, stronger than before.”

“Calgary’s workforce is young and educated, and the city is a great place to live,” Hon notes. “While economic downturns are temporary, what we’re working to build here at The Guardian endures. Good design, good location, and good quality will always find demand here in this city, and homebuyers looking at The Guardian will also appreciate that they will be able to view completed suites and move in immediately.”

The Guardian offers a variety of plans with one-bedrooms from 441 to 572 sq. ft. and two-bedrooms from 809 to 979 sq. ft.

“Our one-bedrooms have sold particularly well to first-time buyers and young downtown professionals, which is bringing a lot of energy to the community. But our two-bedrooms have also proven quite attractive to established, professional couples.”

Each of the homes at The Guardian has floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious, modern open-concept interiors and large balconies offering downtown, river and mountain views.

The spectacular kitchens showcase high-end cabinetry manufactured in Italy by Armony Cucine that offers unparalleled quality, functionality and durability and quartz countertops. The appliances are sleekly integrated into the cabinetry and include a professional-grade induction cook top by Germany’s AEG. Elegant bathrooms are also highlighted by Armony Cucine cabinetry, frameless glass showers and a unique micro-mosaic tile feature wall.

The Guardian’s exterior presents distinctive modern architecture with glass window walls and metal panels that, combined with its remarkable height, make a dramatic impact on the skyline. On-site amenities include a fully equipped fitness centre, workshop, social lounge and rooftop garden terrace.

Of course, a major draw for buyers is the location. Victoria Park is becoming an important and distinct neighbourhood between the downtown and East Village and is experiencing a new wave of urban development that includes new retail, restaurants, the cycle track, the new National Music Centre, and construction on the new Central Library.

“Our new homeowners have commented that The Guardian’s appeal is the unique combination of stunning modern interior design, spectacular panoramic views and its vibrant location in Victoria Park,” Hon says. “We’ve also received lots of positive comments on its amenities from the fully outfitted fitness room to the residents’ lounge and rooftop garden terrace.”
