The northwest is booming. There is a lot of activity in the new home market in these parts, as the completion of Calgary’s ring road opened up accessibility and opportunities for new homebuyers. But amidst all this tumult and frenetic action, there is a quiet piece of heaven where residents can find calm and balance, and it’s in Carrington South.

The tranquil suburban lifestyle is realized in this quiet community just off Stoney Trail in the northwest. Jointly developed by Apex and H3 Developments, Carrington South has steadily grown over the past few years. New showhomes are opening in June as demand continues to surge.

In fact, they are already 70 per cent sold in Phase 5 and will soon start on Phase 6 that will be offering duplex and front-drive garage homes. “Everyone has fallen in love with the family-friendly feel of the community. Parks, playgrounds and the pathways around two ponds are already ready for residents to enjoy,” says Michelle Wilken, development coordinator at Apex, one of the co-developers of Carrington South.

New showhomes from Trico Homes, Excel Homes and Truman will be opening next month. They will all be front-drive garage homes, which have largely been the most popular among the buyers in the community. All three builders have been part of Carrington South from the start.

“We’re getting a lot of move-up buyers from surrounding communities,” Wilken says. “They love that Carrington South is close to major amenities, has easy access to important routes, and has an undeniable family-friendly feel that gives a sense of safety and convenience.”

“Carrington is a growing community in NW Calgary with a picturesque environmental reserve, 19 acres of parks and pathways, serene ponds, and a walkable community design, making it the ideal community for homeowners who are looking to stay active,” says Kristina Plank, marketing manager at Excel Homes which will be opening their popular Collingwood showhome in Carrington South this June.

“Carrington South is rich in amenities like a basketball court, a skate park, your favourite shops, schools, grocery stores and recreation facilities are just a short drive from home. This community is located near a future LRT station and major roadways including Stoney Trail and Centre Street, making travelling within the city quick and easy,” she adds.

“Apex does a very good job with its developments,” says Truman area manager, Paul Dhaliwal, “they are well thought out and make it is easy for us to sell the neighbourhood. When you have an area that feels like home, it is very easy to want place your next homestead in it.”

Trico Homes says they are as glad to be part of such a unique, boutique community and their brand of front-drive homes have been a big part of the community’s success. “Carrington South is one of the most attractive communities to buyers due to the following factors,” says Trico Homes area manager, Erica Lowe.

“People want to live in Carrington South because it is such an exclusive community. It’s small and well established with amenities close by. It’s an extremely family orientated community with lots of pathways and parks,” she adds.

Wilken says they are sure to attract more buyers here as the nearby Shops of Carrington Green commercial centre continues to grow. “The Shops of Carrington Green have built out a lot! There are many new tenants, shopping, restaurants, dental, optometry, spas, medical clinic, Animal hospital, fitness center and many more!” she says.

The new showhomes will emphasize Carrington South’s family-friendly nature. “The Collingwood floorplan can be configured as a 3, 4 or even 5-bedroom home (above grade) when converting the main floor flex room to a bedroom. A full basement development offers 1 or 2 additional bedrooms making it the perfect home for any family to grow into,” Plank says.

Excel Homes offers front attached garage homes in Carrington South, ranging from 1,870 to 2,569 square-feet.

Truman will be featuring its “Sunce Model” which stands at 2,330 square feet. “It is an open to above concept that is a smaller modified version of our current show home the Mystic. It was one of our more popular designs because of its open concept layout,” Dhaliwal says.

The Sunce Model features 3 bedrooms, basement ready package (which includes a sperate side door, 9-foot foundation ceiling height, etc.), luxury viny plank flooring, and a gourmet kitchen package. “It will have our Truman fit and finish specifications that we are known for. Along with our unique exterior color combinations and design really bring the home to life before you even walk in.”

The new Trico showhome is one of its best selling models - The Concord. “This home is very popular because it is so versatile and has options to fit the needs of many buyers,” says Lowe. The home is 2,310 square-feet featuring 3 bedrooms (all with walk in closets), flex room, and spacious bonus room. The floorplan utilizes every inch for practical living.

Trico Homes’ front-drive garage homes here offer customizable floorplans, four bedrooms, basement development and extensions options. They also have some limited green space homesites still available. “We have versatile home designs suited for multi-generational families,” Lowe says.

Carrington is a community framed around everyday necessities, Wilken says. “This highly walkable community boasts amazing views to the west, paired with natural wetlands, winding pathways and an environmental reserve. With convenient access to major routes like Stoney Trail and Centre Street, Carrington is just minutes away from nearby established amenities.”
