Downtown Markham setting the bar high in the 905

By Sonia Bell

Downtown Markham is putting an urban stamp on the 905. Once complete, this burgeoning community will give Toronto's bustling downtown core a run for its money, and will set a new standard for downtown neighbourhoods within the GTA.

Downtown Markham, built and financed by the Remington Group, has been widely acknowledged in the real estate community. The neighbourhood, which started construction in 2005, was also a highlight at BILD's recent 905 condo tour. Everything from luxury condo and office units to retail and restaurants, are making downtown Markham Canada's next up-and-coming metropolis, located in the heart of the city of Markham, just south of Unionville. In the end, Downtown Markham will be home to approximately 10,000 residents and 16,000 employees.
