There’s a new energy coursing through southwest Edmonton these days, and the new community of Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine is adding to this with its best-of-both-worlds location and new home opportunities that span the market.

Rohit Land Development is responsible for much of this newfound vitality, and it cannot contain its excitement in introducing their newest development just off Rabbit Hill Road and 170th St. S.W.

Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine is a 90-acre community with housing options from entry-level townhomes to spacious estate lots.

“We are really excited for this new community,” says Marty Pawlina, marketing manager for Rohit Land Development. “It has everything, it is a complete community, and a place for people of all ages to grow in.”

He tells Edmonton New Home + Condo Guide that the community’s ravine-adjacent location has a lot to do with its appeal. “The community backs onto Whitemud Creek Ravine, and there will be beautiful homes on the ridge that overlook stunning sceneries. Everyone else in the community will have access to walking paths that lead through this wonderful natural landscape and storm ponds.”

Pawlina calls it a “truly walkable community” where everything needed to enjoy a modern lifestyle is just a stroll away. There will be a big commercial area just at the entrance to the community, which will have a grocery anchor store, shopping and employment opportunities for residents.

There will be schools, including a future high school to be built adjacent to Ridgecrest on the other side of Rabbit Hill Road along with a recreation centre. There’s even a site for a Catholic church and an ETS transit centre is proposed for a site on the neighbourhood’s northern outskirts.

“It’s a walkable community that will grow with you,” he says. In addition, two golf courses, Jagare Ridge and Windermere Golf and Country Club, are minutes away, while the Edmonton airport is just about a 20-minute drive from Ridgecrest.

There are seven new show homes now open in Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine from some of Edmonton’s best homebuilders. Although actual show home tours are only available by appointment only at this time, all are available for virtual viewing through the developer’s website at www.liveinridgecrest.com.

“We are enjoying the highest online traffic we’ve ever had since the provincial lockdown began, people are still interested in what we have to offer,” he says. Pawlina adds that the developer is also doing every effort to reach out to the community, including direct mailing of this magazine to homes, so everyone will have access to the information they need to buy a new home.

Prospective buyers will be pleased to know that the builder group Rohit has assembled for Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine includes some of the best in the city. “The builder group we’ve assembled is quite impressive, made up of award-winners who have established a name for themselves in Edmonton and who know the needs and wants of the community,” Pawlina says.

They include Art Homes, Blackstone Homes, Gill Built Homes, San Rufo Homes and Studio Homes, which are all offering single-family homes; Fekete Homes will offer bungalows, and Rohit Communities will construct duplex bungalows as well as townhomes. Modern craftsman styled homes are built with utmost care using sturdy and stylish James Hardie cement fibreboard siding. Pawlina says that it’s an extra detail that adds to the lovely streetscapes. “We will even have a beautiful front entry feature to the community that has copper and bronze notes to it, and we’ve paid attention to all other details from the trails along the pond all the way to the address plaques.”

Ridgecrest will include more than 300 single-family homes in four phases. Duplexes and townhomes will also be available. Pawlina says they have homes for any budget and lifestyle. Downsizers, singles, young families and those with older children will all find a home that suits their tastes here, he says.

Rohit Land Development has played a crucial role in creating this dynamic new area in Edmonton. The 35-year-old land developer and homebuilding company is an institution in the city and is responsible for such hit Edmonton-area communities, such as Starling at Big Lake and Arbours of Keswick Edmonton.

Pawlina says Ridgecrest at Glenridding Ravine is the culmination of Rohit’s considerable expertise. “It will be a modern, self-contained community designed for the future, located in the most desirable location in Edmonton.”
