Fifty shades of grey – real estate style!
February 12, 2015
With tomorrow's highly anticipated release of Fifty Shades of Grey hitting the silver screen, and just in time for Valentine's Day, we thought we'd pay tribute with our own version of Fifty Shades, real estate style! See how these stunning model homes showcase this trendy hue at its finest!
#1 Dreaming in fifty shades...
The model home bedroom at Pemberton Group’s Yorkville-area The Urban Townhomes collection plays up the hot grey hue in a cool way, with a solid grey feature wall, illuminated with integrated ceiling lighting and highlighted by original art by Douglas Coupland – also featuring grey in its various shades. (Click here for the full tour.)
#2 The new neutral
The open concept living room/kitchen at Daniels’ One Park Place South in Regent Park carryies this trendy hue through without skipping a beat. Continuous wood floors and cabinetry in a prevailing grey stain are punctuated by a pops of bright white walls and furniture, and a grey and white rug to tie it all together.
#3 A whiter shade of grey
This barely there shade of grey at Brookfield Residential's Fieldstone model in Mono gets glammed up with panelled wall detail and drops of light dancing off the modern crystal chandelier. The wall colour is echoed in the upholstered dining chairs.
#4 The modern kitchen
Mattamy Homes’ monochromatic kitchen at Milton's Hawthorne Village gets visual interest through the use of pattern and texture – and plenty of it! Cabinets, backsplash, curtains and seating all enjoy this warm neutral, complemented by stainless steel for a little bling.
#5 Bathed in grey
Welcome to Tribute Communities’ Gates of Nobelton in the Kleinburg area – now, here’s what we’re talking about! The grey-veined marble spills from floors to tub to shower, encircled by a curved, warm-grey wall which is the picture of serenity. Ahhh...
#6 Urbane urban living (room)
This kitchen, living room and dining room combo at Lamb Development Corp.’s West Queen West condo, The Harlowe, is certainly an eyeful _ but we want more! The grainy grey and white wood floors are the perfect medium connecting the grey kitchen cabinetry and living room furniture. Again, chrome adds an element of bling perfectly in tune with the grey theme. The look is totally trendy, totally awesome.
#7 A spot of Earl Grey?
Menkes’ model suite at Ajax's Somerset development serves up tea with a side of sophistication. This warmer, darker shade of grey gives the space a cozy feel, with luxurious touches like the grey silk curtains and the greyish-purple velvet seating.
