Harmony recreation takes centerstage in Harmony

Recreation is a big part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle, and if we learned anything from last year, it is that there can never be enough recreational opportunities close to home. And in this regard, Harmony is king.

The winner of four BILD Calgary Region Community of the Year awards, Harmony is outclassing any and all competition with the number of recreational opportunities it offers within the community itself or just outside its borders.

Its long-awaited Adventure Park is now open giving residents a four-season playground that it had always promised for kids of any age. The tobogganing hill and ice-skating ribbon saw much use already during the past winter, and now the pump track, skate park, climbing wall and dog park components are ready to be enjoyed.

The more than 12-acre park is quickly becoming the heart of the community, and even more amenities are on the way. The South Beach building is opening this summer and features change rooms, outdoor showers, guest entry kiosk and bike racks, says Bordeaux Developments Marketing Manager, Laurel Lapointe.

“We have started construction on a new park in Phase 10, it has a playground, half basketball court and green space. It is expected to be complete this fall,” she adds.

“The amenities provide the residents with four seasons of outdoor activity and with such a wide variety of amenities there is something for every type of family.”

Life is indeed flourishing in this Springbank community just west of Calgary, as sales have soared this year with more buyers attracted to its resort-themed lifestyle. Jointly developed by Bordeaux Developments and Qualico Communities, Harmony will see even more homeowning opportunities come in that widens the scope of choices here more than ever before.

“Harmony’s master plan has always included homes in a variety of styles and price ranges for everyone,” says Lapointe. “It’s exciting to be offering a price point that enables even more families to enjoy the Harmony lifestyle.”

The Poplar Collection has been off to a great start, Lapointe says. This collection gathers front-drive and laned move-up homes from Baywest Homes, Broadview Homes and Sterling Homes from the $620,000s.

“There’s been a lot of interest in building in Springbank in this price range and not having to sacrifice on the size of home,” Lapointe says. “At that price point you can get a 2,300-square-foot home, all within walking distance of the lake, a playground and the new Adventure Park.”

The Tamarack Collection is the high-end of the spectrum offering lakeside residences from $1.2 million from Baywest Homes and Augusta Fine Homes. “People want the lifestyle of a private access to Harmony Lake. They are looking for that legacy home, where they can raise their children or entertain grandkids on the lake, in their backyard. Most lots also have private docks.”

The Tamarack Collection also offers upscale living on larger country-sized lots ranging in size from 50- to 70-foot-wide frontages and has proven to be one of the more popular home segments in Harmony. Homes here start at $930,000 with home, average lot and GST.

Still available are the ever-popular paired bungalows in the Willow Collection exclusively from NuVista Homes. They sit on 44-foot lots backing onto even more greenspace, offering relaxed and sophisticated living with a lifestyle-first sensibility.

New is the Birch Collection which introduces townhomes in Harmony to offer a more affordable lifestyle in this four-season resort community. StreetSide Developments brought Harmony Peaks and Harmony Parks, the first multi-family developments in the community. The former presents traditional, maintenance free townhomes from the $460,000s, and the latter offers no-condo-fee townhomes with a new show home opening July 10.

The Poplar Collection also offers select rear-laned carriage homes from Broadview Homes and Sterling Homes. And being welcomed to the group is Daytona Homes. “They have already started pre-sales and are excited to join the community with a new show home in 2022,” Lapointe says.
Being a homeowner in Harmony also gives one enviable access to the prestigious Mickelson National Golf Club just next door. “Harmony residents receive a social membership to the club - it is included in their Owners Association Fees. This gives them access to four rounds of golf at a discounted rate (even when it is a fully private course), access to the future clubhouse and the driving range.”

Even more exciting is the entry of spa developer Groupe Nordik to construct its fourth Canadian spa in Harmony. Spanning 5 acres in Harmony’s Village Centre, the spa represents the creation of approximately 400 full- and part-time, local jobs when it opens.

Harmony’s pristine location in Springbank adds to its long list of amenity-rich lifestyle features. It is less than an hour from the mountains, and even less to downtown Calgary.

“All the amenities are set in the prairie foothills with gorgeous Rocky Mountain views. Harmony brings together the best of urban and country experiences to create a remarkable place that is neither a suburb nor city-centre. It is its own complete community spanning 1,750 acres in Rocky View County, just eight minutes west of Calgary’s city limit,” she says.
