Harry Potter fans will immediately recognize the address 4 Privet Drive. It was the home of the Dursley family, the place where Harry lived in a room under the stairs, where the owls were dispatched with messages, where the young Potter was first introduced to fans in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Of course 4 Privet Lane is a fictional address, but the movie used an actual house as the set, and that house, located at 12 Picket Post Close in Bracknell – a town 55 km west of London, England – is now up for sale. This home set the stage and actors, including Daniel Radcliffe, were hard at work in this home, filming many scenes for the movie series.

The three-bedroom house has been completely renovated (though one can only hope the room under the stairs lives on!) and has hit the market with a hefty price tag of £475,000, well over $800,000 CAD. It is being sold by Chancellors in the UK, and you can view the listing here. But buyer beware – Harry Potter fans still visit the site, so expect a fan or two showing up to snap a selfie or two.

The perfect place to raise little wizards and sorcerers, this three bedroom home really has a spectacular and modern interior finish with features like glass-panelled shaker style doors and light wood cabinetry paired with stainless steel appliances. The large yard leaves room for getting up to lots of magical summer days and nights under the stars, without the worry of commuting off to Hogwarts on platform 93/4 at Diagon Alley.

Showings are being done by appointment only - possibly to keep fans at bay and vet the real estate interest from fandom. But for the right fan, this could be the home that Hollywood dreams are made of!
