Heritage of values continue with Cantiro

The Cantiro name may sound new to the ears, but its legacy is very much etched in the history of Edmonton’s real estate industry.

Cantiro is the new name of the Beaverbrook Group of Companies, which for 25 years has provided Edmonton and area with some of the best award-winning home and community designs and other real estate ventures through its Dolce Vita Homes, MODA, InHouse, Beaverbrook Communities, and Beaverbrook Commercial divisions.

Now, all these various concerns are gathered under the Cantiro banner for a more cohesive visual identity and name. The new brand and its website cantiro.ca launched on October 1, and new Cantiro show homes will follow over the next few months, including a new sales centre design launching in The Hills of Charlesworth this November.

What hasn’t changed is the commitment to quality and innovation, and a desire to provide homebuyers with a pride of ownership in every home or community they build. CEO and Founder, George Cantalini, says they built their success on the three pillars of being “visionary, elevated, and using life-forward designs” in all areas of the business, and this will remain their focus going forward.

“Creating a home and community for our customers is a honour that we take very seriously, and how we’ve built our homes, designed our communities, and treat our customers have always been a point of pride for us, so with the new name we are making sure to put that mindset at the forefront,” Cantalini tells Edmonton New Home + Condo Guide.

“Visionary means that we are innovative and always pushing boundaries,” he says, pointing to their Hills at Charlesworth community and its award-winning Sustainability Plaza. “Even before being green became cool, this internationally awarded community was designed with sustainability and resilient design at its core.”

He says that “elevated” means the company is always striving to create new standards for its products and services. He cites the homes that were built under the former Dolce Vita Homes.

“Not only are they beautiful and include high end finishes, but we go beyond just the aesthetic. It’s what’s behind the walls and how we build each home that truly sets us apart from industry standard.”

By prioritizing “life-forward design,” Cantalini says Cantiro will “always put the life of the customer at the forefront of every decision they make. Every decision in building a home or community is meticulously thought out to how our customer truly live.”

Forging relationships has always been central in the way they do business, in fact, it is the strong relationship between Cantalini and his friend and mentor, Tony Cairo, that forms the backbone of this new company. Cantiro (pronounced: kan-TEE-ro) is an amalgam of Cantalini and Cairo names.

Cantalini says Tony was a long-time friend, mentor and real estate lawyer and was the one who encouraged him to take the leap in purchasing Beaverbrook from his former employer Tridel Enterprises, a company from out east. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Now, Cantiro is on the verge of another successful era as a major player that will continue to shape the growth of Edmonton. They have already done so by shaping a large part of northeast Edmonton, Spruce Grove, Leduc, and initiating planning and development of southwest Edmonton’s Windermere area before anyone saw the potential for housing there.
Cantiro’s “visionary, elevated and life-forward values” can best be seen in their newest show homes that opened this year: the Casoria in Arbours of Keswick; the Ferrara 24 in Robinson in Leduc; and the New York II in Emerald Hills in Sherwood Park. “We will also have a new one coming soon in the Hills at Charlesworth later this fall,” Cantalini says.
The Hills at Charlesworth remains the crowning glory winning the prestigious Royal Town Planning Institute’s International Award for Planning Excellence for its Sustainability Plaza. The community reflects all the values that Cantiro holds dear, from its sustainable and innovative design principles, including repurposed sea can containers with solar-powered wifi, to its community garden.

The community of Spruce Grove is another focal point of development for Cantiro with no less than four on-going projects. These include Greenbury, a turn of the century brownstone development with homes from the $315,000s; Kenton Village, which blends contemporary designs with convenient living; the amenity-rich Prescott, with its K-9 Prescott Learning Centre, Community Centre, and YMCA Child Care Centre right at your front door; and the estate community of The Woods at Kenton.

“The Cantiro name will continue the homegrown legacy of success that Beaverbrook started a quarter of a century ago,” Cantalini says.
