What’s happening

There are numerous Christmas lights shows around Calgary during the Holidays, but for our readers, we thought it best to highlight a residential community that never ceases to amaze with its own amazing Christmas lights display: Legacy.

The community of Legacy is bringing a bright spot to Calgarians – literally. From November 15, 2021, to January 16, 2022, Legacy lights up the south end of the city with more than a million Christmas lights as one of Calgary’s largest free light displays. Find out more about the community at www.legacylife.ca.

New laned home models unveiled in Belmont

Morrison Homes and Jayman BUILT opened five brand new laned showhomes in the growing community of Belmont in the southwest! Decked out in merry Holiday décor, the new laned home models opened during Belmont’s kick off to the Christmas Season.

The new models blow away all expectations with their studied stylishness and elan. “The laned homes have always been a popular offering here in Belmont,” says Jenny Cawthorn, marketing coordinator at Anthem United, the developer of Belmont. “Now, there’s even more to choose from, starting from the mid $400,000s.”

Jayman BUILT showhomes are the Booklyn 20, the Avid 20 and the Cooper 20. The Cooper 20 at 1,780 square-feet is a big favourite, exhibiting grandeur not many expect from a laned home. Morrison Homes has the Arista and the Dexter, both perennial best sellers.

Belmont has grown by leaps and bounds since it opened a little over three years ago. It already has one of the most popular playgrounds in the city and is poised to meet the much expected growth of south Calgary, particularly in the area west of Macleod Trail. One-of-a-kind home in one-of-a-kind community

“Unique” may be an overused word in the new home market, but the new Douglas showhome by Homes by Avi in Rangeview is unique in every way. For one, it is only available in this dynamic, and one-of-a-kind community in Calgary’s southeast; for another, it has three floors as standard.

The Douglas is a 1,948-square-foot laned home with three floors as standard. There’s the main floor with the living room, dining room, kitchen and home office/den; the second floor has the master bedroom with luxurious ensuite and roomy bonus room; and the third has the two children’s bedrooms and full bath – one bedroom even has a balcony. It’s a lot of home for a growing family, and the option to develop the basement and add a side entrance lends a lot to its functionality.

It’s as dramatic as they come, as well, with a soaring open-to-above feature in the living room. Definitely a statement piece in a development as unique as Rangeview, the city’s first garden-to-table community.
