What’s Happening

This year’s Stampede may be a little different, but what will always remain the same is the Stampede Lottery Dream Home, and this year’s grand prize showhome can make anyone yell “Yahoo!” The 2021 Dream Home built by Homes by Avi is a two-storey, 2,490 square-foot house in a Modern Prairie elevation. “We are very excited to be back, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve done for this year’s Dream Home,” says Homes by Avi Marketing Manager, Stephen Dawe. The home is also adorned by the stunning artwork from this year’s Homes by Avi Stampede Dream Home Artist, Katie Leahul. This is the 25th year Homes by Avi and the Calgary Stampede Lotteries have been in partnership and this $1.109 Million four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath home is a testament to their relationship. The winner also gets $100,000 in cash. To get your tickets, go to www.calgarystampedelotteries.ca and for more information on the grand prize show home, visit www.homesbyavi.com.

Homestead opening

Partners Development Group just opened its first community – Homestead – with the debut of 16 new showhomes.
Excel Homes, Genesis Builders Group and Trico Homes have laned and front-garage homes in Homestead, while partners themselves are launching their Journey by partners two-storey street towns with no condo fees.
Just on the east side of Stoney Trail and McKnight Boulevard in Calgary’s expanding northeast, Homestead is a throwback to simpler times and small-town living. Partners says it wants to make this 230-acre community seem as welcoming and inviting to their “homesteaders.”
“Reception has been fantastic! Both customers and realtors alike have found tremendous value in the variety of homes and with options starting from the $300s,” says Partners Marketing Manager, Cale Marklund. “Customers also like that it really feels a bit offset from the city – being on the east side of Stoney gives the community a bit more peace and quiet and helps create a feeling of relaxation for some people.” Showhomes are open for walk-ins and by appointment. Jayman BUILT partners with HomeSpace Society to battle homelessness

HomeSpace Society and its builder partner Jayman BUILT team up in the fight against homelessness in Calgary, as they open Orion, a 51-unit affordable housing development in the Beltline.
Orion is the first independent affordable housing construction by HomeSpace since the conclusion of the collaborative campaign formerly known as RESOLVE, a program that spurred the construction of nearly 2,000 homes across the city.
With more than 3,200 Calgarians experiencing homelessness and thousands more at risk, this development is a significant step in meeting the increase in demand for safe and affordable housing.
“Collaboration with private and public sectors is critical for HomeSpace in developing and managing supportive, affordable housing for individuals and families in need,” says Bernadette Majdell, CEO, HomeSpace.
“Jayman is very fortunate to work with HomeSpace as they continue to execute on important initiatives within our communities,” says Jay Westman, Chairman and CEO of Jayman BUILT. “This project speaks to our belief that every Calgarian deserves secure and affordable housing, and we are proud to support Orion in housing over 50 Calgarians during this time of need.”

Ambleton welcomes virtually

The New Northwest continues its rapid growth as Qualico Communities announce the virtual opening of new showhomes in its young community of Ambleton.
“We are really excited about this community and the new showhomes in Ambleton,” says Nina Wulder, Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Qualico Communities Calgary.
In lieu of an in-person event, starting on June 26 at 11:00am and for the next five Saturdays, Qualico Communities has partnered with Shaw Communications to host weekly virtual tours to be aired on the @qualicoyyc Facebook page. This event will allow viewers to tune in and comment on their favorite features of the homes to be entered to win a $100 VISA gift card.
“It is an exciting way for customers to view the homes in the community, and the virtual tours give each builder the opportunity to show their products, features, and promotions,” says Wulder. “It is also nice to have viewers engage in the post to talk about what they like about the homes.”
Ambleton will feature Front Garage and Laned models immediately with Townhomes and Condos coming in phase two. Front Garage homes starting in the High $500’s from builders Shane Homes, Sterling Homes, and Trico Homes. Jayman BUILT and Broadview Homes are building the laned models, starting in the low $400’s.

Did you know?

The name Canmore originates in Scotland, possibly in honor of King Malcolm III. The anglicized version has been variously translated as “big head” or, more likely, “great head” or “chief.”
