What’s Happening

After a year’s hiatus, GlobalFest returns to Elliston Park late this summer with five nights of international fireworks, together with food and entertainment from the OneWorld Festival. Fireworks competitions start on August 19 with the grand finale on August 28.

“The GlobalFest team are eager to welcome back pyromusical fans to Elliston Park, after 24 long months without Alberta’s Most Explosive Festival,” says marketing/communications manager, Olwen Bell.

Besides the fireworks competition pitting teams from Canada, China, India, Japan and the Philippines, Globalfest will also have over 20 international food booths to tempt everyone’s taste buds. The whole park has also been licensed to allow guests over the age of 18 to enjoy alcoholic beverages while remaining in their seating areas. Holland Park sales surge ahead

Holland Park has always been about absolute liveability. From the design of this Excel Homes’ townhome development to its fantastic location in Walden in the southeast, each unit is meant to offer a balanced lifestyle. And now it is 65 per cent sold.

Excel Homes Marketing Manager, Kristina Plank, says sales are way up this year. A lot of it comes from what Holland Park already offers but maintaining their prices may have been key as well.

“While material costs and pricing has significantly increased in the housing market this year, the Holland Park townhomes have not seen a big jump in price,” she says. “These units remain price friendly for buyers looking to get into the market.”

Holland Park’s selection of two- and three-bedroom townhomes have been wildly popular and there is still a good selection available. With prices starting from the high $200,000s, Plank says now is the time to get in.

Phase 2 of the project was released February 2021, along with three brand new show homes. “Walk-ins are welcome,” Plank says. “Interested parties can check out our pet-friendly townhomes, the community garden, and the miles of walking paths surrounding our location.”

Trico Homes moves to new offices

Trico Homes have been experts in moving homebuyers to a new home, and now the renowned Calgary company has moved to its new home as well.

After more than 20 years at its old office in the Beltline, Trico Homes has moved its headquarters to Kingsland Junction. They occupy a total of just under 29,000 square-feet of the first two floors of a four-storey building in a five-building complex. This new location just off Macleod Trail SW also combines Trico’s other businesses - Trico Communities’s rental apartments and Trico LivingWell’s older adult residences – in this complex as well.

“It’s about the same square-footage as our old office, but this one has more functional working spaces for our employees,” says Trico Homes Marketing Director, Glenda Schwartz. “It allows for more collaboration and teamwork.”

Their clients benefit most from the Accents Design Studio that gives homebuyers a more relaxed, and functional environment where they can choose the entire line of finishings for their home in a friendly, efficient manner.

There’s a new energy coursing through Trico Homes these days, and Schwartz says they are getting ready to announce the opening of more new showhomes this year, including the new STARS Lottery home in Sirocco at Pine Creek in the southwest. Learn more at tricohomes.com.
