What’s happening

Homes by Avi is bringing the heat back to the Beltline, as the multi-awarded homebuilder starts sales for Sovereign on 17th Avenue, the first condo mid-rise tower to go up in this inner-city community in several years. It will be an all-concrete construction and rise 13 stories on 18th Avenue SW, just across from the street from St. Mary’s Cathedral. Homes by Avi CEO Charron Ungar says Sovereign on 17th will bring a new sense of excitement to the Beltline with its luxurious, contemporary style, and fantastic location close to all the action of downtown. Livingston Show Home Village opens

Brookfield Residential is revolutionizing Calgary’s showhome scene as they open the Livingston Show Home Village in this hit northwest community. The Village places all of Livingston’s four single-family homebuilders - Brookfield Residential, Cedarglen Homes, Excel Homes, and Morrison Homes - in one centralized location to improve the experience for homebuyers.

There are, after all, 16 new showhomes to explore in this sprawling community, and it helps that to have one spot where buyers can check out all the options. “This groundbreaking collaboration ensures that homebuyers can explore a diverse range of options without traveling from one location to another,” says Brookfield Residential Marketing Manager Mary Aucoin.

Livingston is a vibrant and award-winning community located in Calgary’s New North. Launched in 2017, the community spans 1,295 acres and boasts 200 acres of parks and green spaces. The community is also home to The Livingston Hub, a 35,000 sq. ft. facility that serves as a central gathering place for residents.

Norris House affordable homes unveiled

On September 13, the latest development in Calgary’s ground-breaking RESOLVE Campaign against Homelessness opened with the unveiling of Norris House in Seton.

Named after one of the founding members of the RESOLVE Campaign and it’s moving spirit, Alan Norris, this new complex of 45 affordable stacked townhouses in this dynamic southeast neighborhood will help some of the city’s most vulnerable find a home.

The $15.6M Norris House project was made possible due to the contributions of several partners including the Government of Canada (CMHC), The City of Calgary, the campaign formerly known as RESOLVE including Brookfield Residential and Albi Homes. HomeSpace will own and operate the property, with social supports for residents provided by Closer to Home. Many families have already moved in to the complex with the final building open for occupancy this fall.

“These homes are the result of the vision and passion of Brookfield’s founder Alan Norris, who gathered Calgary home builders under the RESOLVE banner to support our city through building affordable housing for our most vulnerable. We are so grateful for his great efforts to make Calgary a more equitable place to live through his work to end homelessness through public and private collaboration.” – Bernadette Majdell, CEO HomeSpace.

New showhomes open in Rivercrest

This past September, Qualico Communities Calgary and Slokker Communities opened new showhomes in Rivercrest, a young, family-friendly community in Cochrane.

New front-drive garage showhomes are now open to visit from Broadview Homes, Janssen Homes, and Sterling Homes. Trico Homes will open their new showhome soon.

It was a day of fun with the first 100 groups to register receiving a complimentary City Bonfire Smores Kit to take home. A $300 Sport Chek gift card was also given out for the individual who caught the most magnetic pumpkins in the pumpkin fishing game near Qualico’s SeaCan. Sterling Homes and Janssen Homes also handed out their own swag and sweet treats to those who stopped by.

The community of Rivercrest can be found on the south side of Cochrane and is only 10 minutes away from the town’s centre. With quick access to Hwy 22, commuting to the city of Calgary or surrounding areas like Bragg Creek and Kananaskis Country is easy to do. “The town of Cochrane balances small-town charm with big city amenities beautifully,” says Monica Bilyk, Marketing and Communication Coordinator, Qualico Communities Calgary. “Residents can easily pick up groceries, stop at the bank, fill a prescription, get their oil changed, and still fit in a hike in the Rockies simply due to its proximity to the mountains. It really is the best of both worlds.” Find out more at rivercrest.qualicocommunitiescalgary.com
