What’s happening We are getting closer to wrapping up an exciting 2022 and that means one thing… countdown to the holidays! There are so many wonderful things to do over the next couple of months (check out the amazing festive events below!), including one of Edmonton’s most anticipated events, the University Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees. This year the festival is back, reimaged, and ready to delight. The holiday tradition gets started this month with some returning favourites, like the highly anticipated Gala & Auction on November 24th – a magical evening of fundraising for the 2022 Festival of Trees cause: neuro rehabilitation. Next, on November 25th the Silver Bell Soiree will host another fabulous night to support the worthy cause. There will also be an online auction, a chance to order a Festival in a Box, Santa’s Breakfast, an outdoor Winter Wonderland Holiday Market and more! Get all the details at festivaloftrees.ca

Holiday Countdown Event Guide

The most festive season of the year has officially arrived! Get into the holiday spirit with some of our city’s most wonderful winter celebrations.

  1. Almost a Full Moon
    From November 5-27, the Citadel will be home to new holiday musical. Almost a Full Moon is inspired by Canadian singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman’s celebrated Christmas album. The timeless story is sure to warm hearts with its focus on love, family and of course, Christmas.
  2. All is Bright
    On November 19th, the 124 Street area is bringing back their beloved ‘All is Bright’ winter festival! Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the annual event takes place between 107th Ave and 109th Ave and features beverage gardens, warm fires and sparkling lights, plus some of Edmonton’s best local businesses and artisans.
  3. Luminaria
    The UofA Botanic Gardens is bringing a new winter experience for guests this year. Luminaria: A Winter Garden Story is an evening festival that’s inspired by the atmosphere of alpine holiday markets. Get ready to explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of the season – and a few surprises too. November 23–December 31.
  4. Winter Whyte Light Up
    Old Strathcona is the place to be on November 26th! The fifth annual Winter Whyte Light Up will be turning McIntyre Park into a winter wonderland to kick-off the holiday season. Enjoy free family-friendly outdoor activities, firepits to keep you warm, plus cozy beverages and winter treats to shop.

The Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival is back! Explore exciting wines, spirits, and beers from around the globe at the Edmonton Convention Centre on November 4 & 5.

Easton Showhome Grand Openings

The new community of Easton in Spruce Grove celebrated the grand opening of five showhomes on October 8th. Guests were invited to explore homes from Alquinn Homes, Coventry Homes, Pacesetter Homes, Sterling Homes and StreetSide Developments. In addition to the chance to explore gorgeous showhomes, the event featured custom calligraphy pieces from Justine Ma Design, a caricaturist drawing live portraits, and tasty sips and snacks. A scavenger hunt was also part of the fun, giving attendees a chance to win one of two $250 Visa Gift Cards. Easton is a beautiful community that is just a 15-minute drive from Edmonton’s west side.
