What’s happening

With August comes the fleeting days of summer. The good news? There are countless ways to make the most of this warm and sunny month (see: amazing events listed below!), including a favourite seasonal destination - the Edmonton Corn Maze. In addition to the always fun maze adventure and on-site farm market, one of the highlight activities here is the chance to wander through the beautiful sunflower fields. Blooming from mid-August to mid-September, you won’t want to miss your chance to see these cheery flowers up close and basking in the sunshine. Plus, taking home a bunch of bright blooms is also an option here, with U-Pick sunflowers available for $1 a stem. Get all the details, including hours and tickets, at edmontoncornmaze.ca

Montorio Showhome in McConachie Heights

The new Salerno showhome in McConachie Heights is a definite must-see. With over 2,000 sq.ft. of living space, this two-storey home features a spacious main floor with open-to-above ceilings in the living area. A gorgeous fireplace surrounded by floor to ceiling stone is an eye-catching design element in this main space. The home’s attached two car garage leads to a large mudroom, which effortlessly flows into the smart walk-through pantry. Another fabulous feature of this home’s main floor? A roomy den that can be turned into a fourth bedroom, plus a full bath – perfect for families with generational living needs or for those looking for a handy guest room. The Salerno’s second floor is equally impressive with three large bedrooms and a bonus room that provides families with an additional retreat. This home’s location offers plenty of wonderful amenities, including the McConachie Tree Stand, which is located in the centre of the neighbourhood and offers a sustainable natural area for community residents to enjoy. Conveniently situated, this Anthem community also provides direct access to Anthony Henday Drive, transit routes, and is close to the Clairview LRT station. Rohit Communities’ Safety Week

From July 18-22 Rohit Communities celebrated safety on the job site with their trade partners. The week-long event featured crew pop-ups at work sites all across the city as a show of appreciation to trades professionals for being Caught Working Safe and included breakfast, lunch, prizes, and toolbox chats. This year’s theme was “Why are hazard assessments important to do?” and the Rohit team was excited about the opportunity to be back in person to talk about this critical component of their Safety program. The Friday finale included a lunch for trades and operations staff at the Arbours of Keswick Playground, which featured the much-anticipated headline activity of a charity-fueled dunk tank. Rohit’s Senior Safety Advisor, Mike Smith; Senior Buyer, Andy Geddes; and President, Rohit Gupta all volunteered to get up on the dunk deck to support a local cause.
