Adera’s Duet presentation centre

On a sunny Saturday, June 27th, lucky visitors to Adera’s Duet presentation centre got to enjoy a bag of delicious mini-donuts made on the spot by the famous Little oOties Mini Donuts mobile cart. Afterwards, they made their way over to tour the newly re-opened presentation centre.

A real River District show home in IKEA Richmond

While strolling through a socially-distanced Ikea in Richmond, you can also get an idea of what it is like to furnish an actual replica of one of the homes at River District, complete with views to the Fraser River. The home is also environmentally friendly, and uses ingenious design elements to get the most functionality out of 607 square feet for a family of three.

Concord Pacific Breaks Ground on New Arts Centre

Construction is beginning for the final phase of the sustainable Concord Gardens community. The Picasso phase includes a nine-million-dollar Arts Facility for the City, including a 4.5-million-dollar investment for the not-for-profit operator as part of their community amenity contribution to the development. Peter Webb, Sr Vice-President of Development at Concord Pacific, says “The community, now more than half complete, also includes a significant contribution towards the City’s 29-million-dollar dollar investment into the Capstan SkyTrain station”. As well, Richmond residents have benefited from the recent delivery of the 13-million-dollar Ketcheson Park.

2020 Georgie Awards Winners Announced

The 28th Annual Georgie Awards® Gala was held on June 26, 2020 for the first-time ever via a virtual format hosted by Todd Talbot, co-host of Love It or List It Vancouver.
The finalists and winners were selected by a panel of out-of-province industry professionals.
“Congratulations to all the 2020 Georgie Awards finalists and winners on your outstanding projects and entries this year,” said CHBA BC CEO Ron Rapp. “The winning entries show that BC continues to lead in housing design, innovation, and quality.” The big multi-family winners this year included: Landmark Premiere’s The Stanton, for Best Low-Rise Condominium; Edgar Development’s The Duke, for Best High-Rise, and Grand Georgie Winner Zenterra Developments for Best Multi-Family Home Builder. SFU Ranks #1 Globally for Impact on Sustainable Cities

Simon Fraser University has ranked number one globally for its impact on sustainable cities and communities. SFU also ranked among the world’s top 10 universities for its commitment to tackling climate change, according to Times Higher Education’s (THE) 2020 University Impact Rankings. Overall, SFU ranks 19th in the world among more than 760 institutions from 85 countries. The rankings also place SFU in the top five globally for its response to peace, justice and strong institutions, and in the top 10 for its’ commitment to researching life below water and supporting aquatic ecosystems. “As Canada’s engaged university, we have made it our mission to help build healthy, resilient and sustainable communities,” says SFU President Andrew Petter. “It is especially gratifying, therefore, to now be recognized as a world leader. This success is testament to the commitment of our staff, faculty and students to make sustainability a priority on our campuses and in the communities we serve.”
