A partnership between two well-known developers. Beedie Living and British Pacific Properties will bring 72 new residences to the slopes of West Vancouver. Nestled on the side of a mountain in West Vancouver’s Uplands, Hawksley will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom executive-style condos and townhomes. This is the first of two developments that the two powerhouses are collaborating on in this enclave. It is a rare offering indeed, because West Vancouver is not known for multi-family developments.

Nine years in the making

Port Moody council has finally opened the door to Wesgroup Properties’ Coronation Park, a transit-oriented community featuring six towers, plus various mid-rise buildings, for a combined 2,655 new homes, including 2,560 condominium homes and 105 market rental homes. According to a Wesgroup spokesperson, “We began preparing the rezoning application and had to hit pause due to potential significant changes to the plan from council (for example, built form, park layout, density, among others). With the official community plan being enacted, we have our consulting team moving full speed and are aiming to submit our rezoning application in the next couple of months.”

A Multi-family project coming to Mission

Nestled amongst 15 acres of protected forest, Morningstar Homes Nelson & Grove is a collection of 65, three- and four-bedroom single-family residences, all of which include an unfinished basement. Mission has long been revered as Mother Nature’s playground, an oasis away from it all. Morningstar’s newest neighbourhood is combining the best of both worlds with single-family homes artfully crafted in both West Coast and farmhouse architectural styles in a city that has not seen homes like this before.

The 2022 Georgie Awards

The 2022 Georgie Awards, hosted by the Canadian Home Builders Association of BC (CHBABC), takes place June 4 and the black-tie gala is sold out. “After two years of holding a virtual event, the 2022 Georgie Awards are back in person,” says Neil Moody, CEO of CHBABC. “Celebrating 30 years, the event will inspire and awe guests, showcasing the spectacular homes and projects of this year’s finalists and offering well-deserved accolades to our members.”

The world’s tallest passive-house building?

A modern, low carbon and energy-efficient building that contributes to a healthier planet is coming to Vancouver. Canadian developer, Brivia Group, has selected downtown Vancouver as the location for its most sustainable project yet, CURV, a 60-storey residential development. “The realization of CURV reinforces the narrative that Brivia Group is at the forefront of sustainable building design,” says Kheng Ly, president and CEO of Brivia Group. “Designed to harness its own energy, deliver ultra-filtered air and attenuate noise from outside, CURV will be the most energy-efficient structure of its type ever built.” Contributing to Vancouver’s iconic skyline, CURV just may become the city’s eco-friendly landmark.
