Celebrating the best of the best

The Canadian Homebuilder’s Association of BC (CHBA BC) recently announced the finalists for the 2023 Georgie Awards. The 31st annual awards gala will take place Sat., May 20 at Vancouver’s Hyatt Regency Hotel. “We’re really excited about the quality of this year’s finalists. Every year we see something new, and the 2023 Georgie Awards are no exception,” says Neil Moody, CEO of CHBA BC. “There are some incredible projects that are on the cutting edge of today’s homebuilding trends.” CHBA BC members strive to implement new, high-performance technology, energy-efficient systems, sustainable materials, and the newest designs into their homebuilding process. Community focus

Last month, the new Bettie Allard YMCA opened its doors. It’s a partnership between Concert Properties and the City of Coquitlam. David Podmore, CEO of Concert Properties, says, “The YMCA fills a long-sought need, and combined with the additional housing we are building, this new community will help support the rapidly growing Tri-Cities/Burquitlam neighbourhoods.” The 55,000-sq. ft. facility features an aquatic centre, gymnasium, walking track, fitness gym, family centre, community spaces and a café. In addition, there is an underground park-and-ride lot for the Burquitlam SkyTrain station, and a community policing station.

Grand opening

Foxridge Homes will unveil its new Westbrooke Willoughby four-bedroom, 3,350 sq. ft. display home during its Grand Opening celebration on Sat., Feb. 25, from noon to 5 p.m. There will be mini doughnuts from Tin Lizzy Concessions and hot beverages on site. Located at 20447 76B Ave., in Langley, this launches phase three of the Westbrooke Willoughby development. Phases one and two have sold out and this new collection consists of 22 non-strata, freehold four-bedroom row homes ranging from 2,080 to 2,274 sq. ft., plus three- to six-bedroom duplexes. The row homes are slated for completion in late 2023.

Decorating incentive

For a limited time only and subject to terms and conditions, Wesgroup Properties is offering a decorating allowance of up to $70,000 on all its available homes at its westside Dunbar & 39th project. “We still have a good selection of thoughtfully laid out, concrete homes for sale that will be move-in ready this fall,” says Joey Coupland, vice-president of sales at Wesgroup Properties. “It is a great time to buy pre-sale; take your time to select the perfect home, find the perfect furnishings, and move in with the bumps of last year behind us.” Visit Dunbar at 39th.
