Apex released

HAVAN young professional event

Benchmark interest rate increase and you

On March 2, the Bank of Canada raised the benchmark interest rate by a quarter percentage (.25 basis points) to 0.50 per cent. How does that affect prospective buyers? Patrick Francey, CEO of the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN), says the hike is only “a small piece of the puzzle. The uncertainty around the world, price fatigue and other variables play a bigger role in people’s decision to buy.”
