It was a dream year 44 years in the making for Jayman BUILT, as the renowned Alberta homebuilder and land developer celebrates its winningest season, sweeping all the major new home awards in the local, provincial and national stage.

You have to wonder, what will they do for an encore when they celebrate the 45th year anniversary next year? But for all intents and purposes, it’s their customers that will benefit from this success and that their award-winning expertise can help their buyers achieve their dream home too.

“Honestly, it feels incredible. Winning across the board this year is a huge honour, and it’s a real acknowledgment of the dedication our team puts into each project,” says Dave Hooge, Chief Operating Officer at Jayman BUILT.

“We set high standards and take pride in pushing for quality and innovation, so to be recognized in this way really means a lot. It’s just the kind of thing that drives us to keep doing our best.”

Awards sweep

This October, Jayman BUILT won the Pinnacle Award for Large Volume Builder and Multi-Family Builder at the Building Industry & Land Development Association Alberta (BILD Alberta) Awards in Jasper, capping its winningest season yet.

Earlier this year, Jayman BUILT won Builder of the Year-Large Volume at the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Edmonton Region (now known as BILD Edmonton Metro) Awards of Excellence in Housing, and the Grand Award for Large Volume Single Family at the BILD Calgary Region Awards. The latest win in Jasper marks the 25th time they have won Best Builder award in the Alberta local and provincial associations.

Adding to their hoard of 2024 accolades, Jayman BUILT also won the top award for Best Customer Experience, Single Family Large Volume at the 2024 Home Owner Mark of Excellence (H.O.M.E.) Awards, and at the CHBA National Housing Awards - Design Excellence 2024, which is their third time winning this award.

Buyers also get to benefit from the innovation, skill and expertise that all these awards recognize. “For our buyers, there is always confidence knowing that the builder you have chosen with the most important investment you may make in your lifetime has been recognized by their industry peers as among the best of the best in the industry.”

The work, however, does not end in the trophy room, as Jayman BUILT’s culture is built on not only inspired productivity but being a vital member of the community.

Jayman BUILT, as an organization, recognizes that it is building the community itself that makes it all worth it. Their numerous sponsorships, including the title sponsor for the Jayman BUILT MS Walk Alberta and Northwest Territories, and other charitable contributions makes them a proud member of all the communities they build in.

Best of the best

In addition to the Builder of the Year titles in Edmonton and Calgary this year, Jayman BUILT also took home a boatload of awards in each respective organization.

In Calgary this year, Jayman BUILT won awards for Best Multi-Family Community Concept for the Streams of Lake Mahogany; Best Apartment Style $251,000-$350,999 for Les Jardins’ A Suite; Best Apartment Style - $451,000 and Over for the Streams of Lake Mahogany; as well as for Best Sales and Information Centre.

While in Edmonton, they took home awards for Best Single-Family Under $300,000 for The Brady; Best Single-Family $300,000 -$350,000 for The Sonata; Best Design Centre/Show Room for their styleMagic Design Centre; the Environmental Recognition Award for Single-Family Large Volume Builder; Best Net Zero Homes for The Karma; and Best Greenfield Garden/Secondary Suite for The Karma Legal Suite.

At the BILD Alberta Awards, they took a total of seven awards, including the Pinnacle for Large Volume and Multi-Family Builder. They also won for Multi-Family Under 650 sq ft. for Les Jardin A Suite; Multi-Family 950-1,200 sq. ft. for their Sawyer 24 Villa; Multi-Family 1,400-1,600 sq. ft. for Erica 18; Single-Family 2,200-2,400 sq. ft. for Jake 26; Single-Family 2,400-2,600 for Bentley 24.

“It really comes down to a strong commitment to quality and a team that’s fully dedicated to our vision,” Hooge says. “We don’t take shortcuts—we focus on the details, and we listen to what buyers want in a home. Every project is driven by our goal to build homes and communities that people are genuinely excited to live in. This sweep is the result of everyone’s hard work, plain and simple.”

Environmental initiatives

It is no surprise, however, that Jayman BUILT was able to achieve these various award-winning feats, as they have nurtured a culture of innovation in the development of their homes.

They were the first to introduce the most energy efficient homes available in Alberta, including their Quantum Performance Ultra E-Home, achieving Net Zero Certification. Jayman offers four options for an energy efficient home, designed to save you money annually and protect the environment.

Each Jayman BUILT home already include 10 solar panels, a 96 per cent High Efficiency 2-stage furnace, an active heat recovery ventilation system, among others, that translates into $21,000 in value included in the home. Those 10 solar panels will generate enough electricity to cut homeowner’s electricity bills by up to 50 per cent - nearly half-way to Net Zero energy generation!

Hooge says Jayman BUILT is proud of its commitment to innovation. “We invest in training our people, we’re always looking for new ways to build smarter, and we take pride in staying ahead of industry trends. What really sets us apart, though, is our commitment to quality, design innovation and customer experience. We’re are not just building houses; we’re creating places that people are proud to call home, and that’s what keeps us motivated every day.”

Next year, we’re launching Nostalgia Townlet, a new master-planned community with incredible never seen before home designs and amazing amenities you won’t find anywhere else in Alberta,” Hooge says.
